China's GPS: Military Threat?

Peter B. de Selding hit the front page of Space News (subscription only) the other day with a scoop about a Chinese plan to build a 24-satellite navigation network, called Compass, in roughly the same orbit as the American and European sat-nav systems, GPS and Galileo. But there’s more: the Chinese are apparently “threatening” to use an encrypted signal for military ops that would actually overlay – and maybe interfere with – "M-Code," the Pentagon's GPS broadcast. That's the signal that keeps everything from precision bombs to flying drones on track.

Space Jam.jpgYou might remember that the Pentagon had a right royal hissy fit when the Europeans proposed to overlay Galileo’s encrypted signal on the M-code, because under those circumstances the U.S. military wouldn’t be able to jam Galileo during any hostilities without blocking its own ability to access the GPS signal. So, you would figure collective hair would be on fire over at the five-sided building at the news of the Chinese plan, right?

Well, maybe and maybe not. Turns out this jamming biz is not as simple as it sounds. According to CDI’s resident techno-geeks, Haninah, Eric and Ryan, it seems that we could, at least theoretically, jam the Chinese satellites even if the GPS signals are overlain (over-layed? laid over?). It would be difficult, and we’d need a lot of jammers to ensure that enough satellites in the network were shut down to degrade the system’s functionality. But jamming the signals of individual satellites is a tough challenge, so we’d likely end up opting instead for “frying” – in that the easiest way to shut them off would be to them slam them with a pulse that would put the electronics permanently out of commission.

That's probably not an option we'd want to take with Galileo constellation -- which, after all, is costing the Euros a serious wad. Considering that the U.S. isn’t likely to be at war with Europe anytime soon (perhaps despite the efforts of the French), it’s probably safe to assume that we’d only be talking about stopping up Galileo if some bad guy was using it against us – and it is pretty unimaginable that under those circumstances that the U.S. would want to be faced with having to blow (electronically that is) Eurohardware out of the sky.

Instead, we'd probably want to use local jammers, to block out a given area's satellite receivers on the ground. GPS signals (and Galileo signals) are weak. So it's pretty dang simple to drown them out using an in-theater jammer putting out a stronger signal over a certain geographic footprint. But that only works if our M-code and their signals aren't crossed-up.

But the question of being able to jam the Chinese isn’t the only problem raised by the potential Compass signal overlay. The CDI techno-geeks, as well as one of my P-gon buds who actually knows a thing or two about satops, explained that the Compass constellation itself could be used by the Chinese as sort of a giant jammer in space to muck up GPS. The Compass sats could transmit garbage that disabled GPS, or transmit deceptive signals that would not disable it, but cause it to broadcast incorrect data. They could do this intermittently and sneakily – to undermine confidence in GPS/Galileo reliability (Beijing to Washington, “We’re so sorry, bugs in our system.”) Or they could equip the Compass satellites with high-powered transmitters linked to a big, red DISABLE GPS button at PLA HQ for use in any conflict with the U.S.

Before I get slammed for pretending to be Bill Gertz, it is worth noting, as Gregory Kulacki from the Union of Concerned Scientists pointed out, that there isn’t any money in the current Chinese five-year budget plan for such a satnav system, and we’d be talking about big, big money. Nor could Gregory find any info in the Chinese-language technical literature in the public domain about the specs for such a potential system. So, maybe the Chinese just want to scare the Euros into letting them in on their signal? Stay tuned, we’ll know more next Monday when Space News will be publishing a follow-up story.

END QUOTE

IF I'M IDIOT, then you're clearly worse, and what word is there for this, besides hellbent. You're nothing more than moron murderers of the imperialists, etcetera, and this makes you slaves while you pretend to be free. You have [no] real freedom until you have a truly individual conscience, and these two above jerks clearly have nothing to speak of for real individuality and conscience. I should say three of you, to include idiot Prousalis, who's just another brown-nosing, butt-licking, cock-... jerk who enjoys trashing the U.S. Constitution (while doing so implicitly), treating it as just another "piece of paper", like toilet paper, such as his "president" GW Bush said of the founding laws. Yes, Prousalis murders or supports murder for profit and fun; and so on. All un- and anti-Constitutionally so!

Don't like "war clouds" that tell of [your] hellbent ways, eh? Then die the way you [chose] to live! And if your life has no after-life in your puny, nearly non-existent minds, then die already; because you're then nothing more than unsalvageable garbage, toxic waste anyway.

So this is Mike Corbeil, U.S. citizen, who enlisted in the USN, telling you assholes to fucking grow up, develop a real conscience, get in line with the U.S. Constitution, which in itself is history that unfortunately and evidently can't be undone, but since that's the case, we better honour the Constitution's requirements and this means international laws, conventions and treaties that the government of the USA is co-signatory to.

If you don't agree, then you literally are traitor and need to be treated as such.

Die in the criminal wars you promote, support, and conduct! Don't even return to the USA in coffins, for you should be dumped in burning volcanoes, instead. There is no place in any country for [traitors]. No place for traitors!

So burn!

The End Of History
The End Point and The End Game

With the fall of the Soviet Union it was widely believed that we had witness the end of history, the end of the historical war between democracy and Marxism. But with the rise of communist China, we are again faced with the historical question: who will be left standing at the end of history?

This time around it looks like the final battle. And the news from the front isn’t good. Communist China, simply by opening its trade door to the world’s capitalists has pretty much captured the means of production along with the technology and the wealth and so the wherewithal to build up its military strength. Does this mean that Marxism is set to dominate the world? Not quite. It is not the rise of worldwide communism that China has in mind, but “socialism with Chinese characteristics.” It is China that has captured the means of production and it is China that seeks to dominate the world. And they intend to do so not by military dominance, but by waging total economic war. A war we are on the verge of losing. And as we lose it, so goes the world. This is China’s end point and end game.
So, before they succeed, we have to get in the game. Not only do we need a vision that pulls our economy out of recession, we also need one that will win the ideological war. That is, we need an end point and end game of our own.
But first, it is necessary to put China’s end game in perspective. To do so, however, we have to take communist/imperialist China temporarily off the board and view them as just another global player.
To begin we have to go back to 1976. That’s the year the United States began running a continuous and mounting trade deficit (a continuous rise in global unemployment). It began as Japan and Germany rebuilt their economies and emerged as formidable competitors, followed by the Asian tigers and then the Asian tyrannosaurus-rex—China. According to economists, however, this should not be a problem. America's trade deficit would be brought into balance as a weakening dollar gives the U.S. a competitive edge, regardless of their technological and low-wage comparative advantages, and bring our current account into balance. In lay terms this would be called a teeter-totter global economy—an up and down game that keeps the global economy balanced. But some players are unwilling to play. As evidenced by China as it pegged its currency to the dollar. If it had not done so their economy would have stagnated as its exchange rate rose to a point where it lost its competitive edge and the global economy would have lost a significant trading partner.
Now, however, since it has become the factory to the world, it has been pressured to reevaluate the yuan and has modestly relented. But since China has become the factory to the world, the benefits are doubtful. As the yuan strengthens, the costs of their exports rise, which translates into fewer exports, and a rise in domestic unemployment. For us it means they export inflation while we export more dollars. So, pursuing this line of thinking could push the global economy into a recession—the seesaw is broke in the middle.
Then there is this: In the real world our competitors distort the currency markets by purchasing dollars (one aspect of pegging) to keep their currencies competitive that become part of their dollar reserves. To date Japan and China have both stashed a trillion dollars under their mattresses.
And it’s just not here that there is a problem. Japan holds approximately 600 billion dollars in Treasury securities while China holds nearly 400 billion dollars. This is not altruism. The investment angle aside, they are simply pursuing their own self-interest. By investing in government bonds they further prop up the dollar and in so doing protect their economies while allowing the United States to remain a significant export market.
Yet despite all this the dollar remains weak. And so there is a rise in our exports—but not enough to keep our trade deficit from widening. So how long does the U.S. have to sit at the top while others sit meekly at the bottom? That’s the wrong question. The right question is: How much longer will other nations prop up the dollar and our financial house while allowing us to keep bellying up to the pot while putting less in as we continue to export more dollars?

China and Japan are our major competitors and it’s not necessary to go on down the list, the point is they reflect the world at large—a global economy not only out of balance, but unlikely to be balanced. The reason that it has yet to reach a tipping point is that while they shored up their economies by propping up our financial house, we became a nation of rampant speculators and unrestrained shoppers. Hype in the stock markets over dot.com ventures led to a rapid expansion of paper wealth that fueled an economic boom as well as a boon in capital gains taxes that not only contributed significantly to budget surpluses, but had economists forecasting that they would continue far into the future and within ten years our national debt would be zero. It was the age of irrational exuberance. And when the bubble burst, budget surpluses evaporated, fell into deficit, and the economy itself, in 2001, slipped into recession.

Not so much in response, but for disparate reasons, the nation’s fiscal and monetary arsenal was pretty much deployed. Massive tax cuts (mostly for the wealthy) and massive pork barrel spending by a Republican Congress (trading principle for power) and a maximum cut in interest rates, by a sober Federal Reserve, to rock bottom quickly brought the economy out of recession. But rock bottom interest rates quickly led to a housing boom and a frenzy of speculation in the housing markets and a windfall for homeowners who refinanced and cashed out on their inflated equity and went on a spending spree buying SUV,s, remodeling their homes or moving up, buying high end televisions or whatever their hearts desired. But eventually reality checked in as rising prices soared out of reach for prospective buyers and the bubble collapsed.
Now the economy again is slipping—despite a weak dollar and a rise in exports—into recession (this time with no bubbles in sight). So, again, the Fed is pushing interest rates to rock bottom at the same time providing greater liquidity to the financial markets while the President and Congress throws out a stimulus package of rebates for individuals and tax incentives for businesses. But given that America is an upside down nation facing a credit crunch, rising food and oil prices, and in the midst of a severely slumping housing market, they will not have a sustainable effect.
So here the problem isn't simply with China, nations regardless of ideology seek, or attempt to seek, their own self-interest, and in so doing play a dangerous zero-sum game. A game where economists have no viable answers, other than pursuing more trade agreements, as such politicians are at a lost. We are out of the game.

That said, communist China is very much in the game; their end game is to win the zero-sum game. The backbone of Marxism is that capitalism has gone down a path that ultimately leads to its collapse. For the “bourgeoisie cannot exist without constantly revolutionizing the instruments of production, and thereby the whole relations of society… The need of a constantly expanding market for its products chases the bourgeoisie over the whole surface of the globe. It must nestle everywhere, settle everywhere, establish connections everywhere… All established national industries have been destroyed or are daily being destroyed. They are dislodged by new industries, whose introduction becomes a life and death question for all civilized nations, by industries that no longer work up indigenous raw material, but raw material drawn from the remotest zones… In place of the old local and national seclusion and self-sufficiency, we have intercourse in every direction, universal interdependence of nations… The bourgeoisie, by the rapid improvement of production, by the immensely facilitated means of communication, draws all even the most barbarian nations into civilization… The cheap prices of its commodities are the heavy artillery with which batters down all Chinese walls, with which forces the barbarians’ intensely obstinate hatred of foreigners to capitulate… The bourgeoisie has subjected the country to the rule of towns. Has greatly increased the urban population…It is enough to mention the commercial crises that by their periodical return put on trial, each time more threateningly, the existence of the entire bourgeois society… In these crises there breaks out an epidemic that, in all earlier epochs, would seemed an absurdity—the epidemic of overproduction… society suddenly finds itself put back into a state of momentary barbarism; it appears as if a famine, a universal war of devastation had cut off the supply of every means of subsistence, industry and commerce seem to be destroyed; and why? Because there is too much civilization, too much means of subsistence, to much industry, too much commerce… And here it becomes evident that the bourgeoisie is unfit to be the ruling class in society… It is unfit to rule, because it is incompetent to assure an existence to its slave within this slavery, because it cannot help letting him sink into such a state that it has to feed, instead of being fed by him.”
So said, worldwide unemployment reaches a critical mass, and capitalism collapses. As it does, the workers rise en masse, overthrow the existing order, take control of the means of production, and establish a “dictatorship of the proletariat” that oversees the shift from socialism to communism.
Well, as we know, history didn’t go according to Marx. Lenin and Mao became impatient vultures—instead of waiting for the death of capitalism, they became birds of prey, they wanted to kill now. And to achieve the means to their end, command economies that would bury capitalism, they started on their own people.
So today we are faced with communist China (and to some extent Russia—their favorite monkey). And while their end point hasn’t changed, their end game has. Faced with the concrete reality that centrally planned economies have failed, China opted for the capitalist road and in so doing are now in a position to accelerate the collapse of capitalism. And they have targeted the United States as the first domino. While we shipped them our manufacturing jobs, they gave us the trade finger (say unfair trade practices doesn’t quite cut it). They knew full well that their peg was a cannon in their arsenal. So, together with our loss of jobs we are being pushed to the brink.
There is no real surprise here. But there is tremendous anxiety and an acute sense of danger. We are in a recession, a recession that feeds on itself as unemployment begets more unemployment and recession turns into a great depression; as such, we are faced with the very real prospect of economic collapse that precludes any revolution—China has already captured the means of production. Even so, does this mean that Marx was right?

If so, China has played the game well. Opening their door to the world’s capitalists set off a race to the bottom—the constant search for cheaper wages, lower taxes and weaker environmental and other regulations by capitalists who in the end produce a downward spiral in socio-economic conditions in the United States and other industrial countries—as their respective Atlases shrugged and beat feet to China.
The underlying rationalization, other than exploiting a vast and untapped market (that would benefit America), was that as communist China shifted to free markets, with a rising middle class, there would an inexorable shift to democracy. Anyone that believes that today is wearing some serious rose-tinted glasses.
Meanwhile China got a firm grip on the Shruggers’ financial balls, and as they lobbied Washington—don’t offend them, don’t make them squeeze—their hearts and minds soon followed. The appeasement by previous administrations is now firmly locked into the present administration. And looking over the horizon there is no would-be president that even dares to step out on the yellow brick road.
That said, China, in their quest, was never going to risk a nuclear war (and if they did, did they consider the China syndrome. A doomsday scenario where the U.S.’s thirty-five nuclear power plants melt down and spread nuclear radiation around the world to China). They were never going to risk the means of production. Their end game is total economic war. It is The Art of War: “To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill.” And while its author, Sun Tzu, lived in 6th century B.C. imperialist China, his ideas are alive today. And their skill is still paramount. Fools still rush in—or are they fellow travelers or just anti-America? It’s hard to tell.
But it is easy to see that the President and would-be presidents, other than the occasional complaining about unfair trade practices and meaningless sanctions by Congress, do not want to offend our “ banker”. Better to focus on NAFTA, North Korea, Iraq, Iran, al qaeda, and illegal aliens—anything but saying these are Marxists whose intentions are to “overthrow the existing order.” As such, it seems like we have pretty much surrendered.
Even so, rumor has it that after the Munich games, China will deploy the nuclear option under the guise: it only makes financial sense to shift from the dollar, from treasuries, and invest in a basket of currencies—is this de-pegging, they are only giving us what we want? Whatever, it is only the senseless that will not see this as an overt act of unrestricted warfare against the democracies of the world. And while China threatens foreclosure, we are working against ourselves, as politicians cannot agree on a plan that forestalls home foreclosures that must include mandating a freeze on the resetting of adjustable rate mortgages.
In the meantime Taiwan has become less of an issue and more of a deception. They too joined the race to bottom and invested heavily in China while approximately one million Taiwanese moved to China to live and work. So at home, Taiwan is paying the price, unemployment is becoming an issue. As such they have already been conquered. And we too are about to be conquered.
They’ve have propped up our economy so they could suck out our jobs, our technology (by hook or crook), our resources, until finally they’ve sucked out our last economic breath. And even if they hold on to their dollars and U.S. bonds, it was a good investment. So what if they lose trillions of dollars, they will suffer no casualties. As our economy heads deeper into recession our credibility in the world’s financial markets wanes, especially as the Fed drops interest to rock bottom. So along with a financial meltdown, the dollar crashes and is no longer accepted in the world’s oil markets. Without imported oil, a sound economy, our military becomes a wounded paper tiger—limping its way back home. When that day comes, China will be in control of the world.

As the U.S. economy falls deeper into a depression, the price of raw resources will plummet in the world's commodity markets, notably oil—and those exporting nations will lose significant revenues. To maintain their economies, they are going to have to sell more for less. And as they do, they will have little choice, they will have to turn to China—who will demand long-term contracts. But in the not so long term, China’s voracious consumption, its need to build so-called modern cities for the remaining four hundred million or so Chinese living in rural poverty, will draw down their oil reserves. And as they continue to put away their bicycles and put a billion cars on the road they will drain their reserves and as they decline, so does their economy. Then what? In a post-American world China is free to do whatever it wants—take whatever it needs.
So Russia and Iran what do you think about that? And how about Bin Laden, what does he think happens as a godless ideology dominates the world (mess with them and they will mess with Mecca—turn yourself in or else)? China is at war with the world. And they are close to achieving their end point--the end of history: the final battle for the survival of the fittest.
Even so, this is risky business. Having gone down the capitalist road, they too may have gone down a road of no return. With the fall of the United States, Japan, Germany, India, and other industrial economies immediately go into decline; aided by a falling dollar and a concurrent rise in their currencies and China, despite its peg to dollar, can’t help but follow. Their zero-sum game ultimately threatens their economy.
While the irony for capitalism is that it provided the shovel that will bury us, the irony for China is that its reserve army of unemployed becomes so large that they will rise up and attempt to overthrow the existing order. But revolution, in Marxist theory, is no longer possible (unless the dogs of war cut their leashes and join the revolution). In Marx’s day it was muskets and cannons that revolutionaries faced—today, as we know, it is at least tanks and machine guns. If the Chinese communists have to slaughter millions of Chinese, so be it—what’s another few million more (when your goal is power for the sake of power)? So, in the end, if they do rule the world they will be a country that continues to live in fear of its Orwellian rulers.

Of course China intends on applying the Marxist end point maxim: “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.” Some work and some don’t? Whatever, how this plays out is a moot question. The game is not over. Here is where it gets risky.
Bush’s invasion of Iraq was about oil. But it only makes sense (it wasn’t going to be our oil) if it was about keeping China out. They were in the midst of a securing a long-term oil contract with Hussein—no more Saddam, no more pending deal. But today China again is pursuing the same deal. And while it’s not a done deal, yet you have wonder is China influencing Iraqi politicians (the Shiites) to push America out? And once out, they renegotiate all oil contracts in favor of China? The recent move by Iraq to accept no-bid service contracts for existing fields from western oil companies does not mean that they will not do business with China for the development of new fields.
Whatever. Oil is the life-blood of all industrial nations. The ideological struggle between China and the U.S. becomes second fiddle to the battle for peak oil—a war that could bring on the end of all history. Before any of this happens, we have to get in the game.
So what is our end point? The ideological battle began with the industrial revolution and it will end when it comes to a sustainable end—so whither the industrial revolution? Here’s the vision: The lights out factory. Lights out because there are no workers. It is robots with the smarts, dexterity, tactile reflex, and the eye-hand coordination (O.K, some lights) that will assemble (and disassemble for recycling) the components already pretty much produced by machines. Now picture a factory where robots shift from assembling toasters to assembling computers. Here, potentially all various brands of consumer goods (here meant to mean the basic necessities) can be produced and assembled in one factory (scaled to meet local or regional needs)—here we have the ultimate in productivity and efficiency. So as these factories rise throughout the world, the industrial revolution comes to a peaceful end.
Of course the problem is that human slaves are much cheaper than robots. But once the race to the bottom flattens out, hits the bottom of the barrel, there will be a race to the top, a race for full automation.
The problem is that right now is that the free market, driven by pure self-interest continues to produce more unemployment. That has to end before our economy collapses.
Our first move is shift from an economy that is unsustainable to one that is. The second is to put aside the issues and vitriol (at all levels) that divide us and focus on the challenges that are threatening us all. It’s time for a change. It’s time to realize what empowers our marketplace—and so our democracy—is a collective free market will where self-interest rightly understood is that it is in all our best interest to insure the integrity of whole. So there is no point in bemoaning what got us into this mess. The point is we have to shape up and stand together to meet the challenge.
And as we make these key moves, we pull our economy out of recession and away from the specter of collapse—it’s what economists (forget Marx) call creative destruction—in other words, out with the old and in with the new. The lights in the global economy are dimming and we have to get ahead of the curve. We have to get our heads out of the short-term box and start thinking about how we become more self-reliant and more creative. This is our end game.
But before we go there we have to understand the crisis that threatens us all. Total economic war means not only a run on the dollar, our banks and stock markets, but also a run on our supermarkets.
Here, there is a two-edged sword. The skyrocketing in oil prices is impacting food prices (compounded by the absurdity of trading food for fuel). And while high prices will impact the head of the food chain, the conventional farms, and trickle down to the consumer, rising fuel prices can crush the tail of distribution. Our supermarkets are replenished every day. What happens if truckers are priced out of the market and our stores not restocked for a couple of days? Actually, this is a cart before the horse question. Rising oil prices is reducing the purchasing power of consumers producing a tailwind that is driving our economy deeper into recession.
Here’s where we get cut to the bone. What happens when rising unemployment pushes our economy into a depression and impacts those unable to afford food? In a free market when demand goes down production is cut back. In the case of rising oil prices, the weak are priced out the market, and resort to bicycles, or walking, or whatever. And as they do prices go down to the point where they can enter the market again. But in the case of factory farming the unit price goes up and the weak are priced out of the supermarket (soup lines and food stamps are not going to cut it). But they are not about to roll over and die. They will resort to stealing. And when stealing becomes endemic, people panic and hording becomes widespread. And when they go back for more they find the food markets under new management—Old Mother Hubbard standing at the door with her arms crossed; no more food for you. And so as people turn away from supermarkets, they turn on each other, “a war of all against all.” This is the art of war. Let the enemy destroy themselves.
And second as our economy slips deeper into recession it falls into what is known, in economic jargon, as a liquidity trap. As the Fed pushes interest rates to rock bottom and flood the banks with cash it just sets there, as recession forces consumers to cut back on spending and so firms cut back on production, investment and workers. As they do the opportunity for investments dim and venture capitalists cut back and sit on their hands and the economy freefalls.
The usual economic remedy is to resort to what is called in the trade: helicopter money—throwing out a hundred and sixty billion dollars in tax rebates and tax incentives into the wind in the vain hope that our economy will step over the trap.
The usual isn’t working. We have to put our economy on a war footing. And as we engage in economic war we set off an investment and spending multiplier effect—a ripple effect that creates new jobs and hence more spending and more investment. And as it does the Fed does what it can to provide the necessary liquidity—without any fear of long-term inflation. Scarcity is the source of inflation—it is the economic problem, and sustainable development is the answer.

On the energy front our end game will depend on stable oil prices. Yet, oil has, or will shortly reach peak production; reflected by the canaries in the futures markets reading the handwriting on the wall (and as the economy heads into recession they will reverse their bets). And even if oil hasn’t reach peak, the buffer of excess capacity is thin, and any disruption in production sends prices skyrocketing. Even so, when oil does reach peak, there is a plateau of production—how wide depends how fast we shift to renewable sustainable energy and sustainable development.
Peak oil is an historical turning point just as threatening as the rise of communist China. We have to understand that it is in our national interest to dramatically reduce our consumption of oil (even as prices drop). Our national security depends on it, as well as our international credibility. The United States, with five percent of world’s population, consumes one-quarter of the world’s supply of oil—more than China, India, Japan and Germany combined. If the rest of the world is to prosper, if our nation is to survive, we are going to have to take the lead--we have to be the agent of change. We have a narrow window of opportunity and the sash cord of rising oil prices if not arrested, will slam it shut.

Of course change is underway. Airlines, struggling to survive, are grounding planes. And drivers are restricting and altering driving habits, shifting to public transportation and turning to rail for their commutes. But unless others, those that don’t care or the affluent who remain aloof to the crisis, don’t curtail their consumption, and limit their driving and flying to essential trips, we’ll lose the war before we even get into battle.
A unfortunate, but unavoidable outcome is that cutting back on travel means some businesses, large and small, may suffer, and some workers will lose jobs, but it is a small sacrifice as we invest in sustainable enterprises that puts us on a path to economic recovery. And while for some, as they shift professions, they’ll see in a decline in their life styles, but they’ll have a job, so while they may move down, many more will move up to better jobs with better pay.
That said our first line of defense is energy. While coal provides 50 percent of our electricity its costs are rising along with those of natural gas. To fight this war we are going to need to rely on new stocks of sustainable electricity, stabilizing the price of coal and natural gas (we are at war, and if coal and natural gas industries seek to defend their self interest they serve only to weaken the war effort). This is the path to energy independence, and it’s going to require immediate and significant investment—we can’t think in terms of ten years down the road, we have to accomplish energy independence within five years. And that may be too long. But shifting to electricity means nothing unless the automakers quickly shift to producing inexpensive A to B electric cars. Or consider Air Cars that run on compressed air (if proven to be viable). If not, there is no path to energy independence and we’ll remain on the oil track—heading us away from the front lines.
To fortify our energy line we have to invest in those technologies that can be quickly be developed and deployed. On the energy front we have a choice of windmills, photovoltaic solar thermal power, deep geothermal, and so on. While not eliminating the development of any, still, we should focus on those that are the most viable and the most promising.
While it makes sense to immediately begin installing solar arrays on homes that use natural gas or oil—financed by loans or second mortgages whose monthly payment matches or reduces their monthly energy bill—it also makes sense to focus on solar thermal technology at the same time.
For example: Ausra, an up and coming entrant into the renewable energy field, have embraced the technology that has significantly reduced the costs of bringing on line base load (day and night) solar thermal energy to the point where it is becoming competitive with coal-fired and nuclear power plants. Currently they have completed an automated factory in Las Vegas that produces the necessary components for their domestic power plants—and eventually, as they spread throughout the country these components can be produced for export. The problem is that the proof is in the pudding. Yet, we have to believe in something, do something, before our economy turns to mush.
Whatever it takes, our goal is energy independence and without a sustainable supply of energy, any vision is powerless.
So said, on the consumer front we can invest in factories today where various brands share the same assembly line of robots and workers—from breakfast cereals (packaged in reusable plastic containers) to toasters, microwaves, refrigerators, computers, and so on—bringing down unit costs. And as we as do, we take it upon ourselves to produce untainted and cradle to cradle products. And while it may be improbable to compete with worker’s that barely have subsistence incomes, nonetheless, we just have to cut back on superfluous spending. Think of it in terms of organic food, you may pay more, but our nation becomes healthier (and this applies also to domestically produced steel). Here’s how we wean ourselves from China while creating new jobs.

On the agriculture front there is controlled-environmental (indoor) farms that can provide cities with a local sustainable food supply while playing a significant part in meeting the challenges of severe droughts and weather (that appears to worsening on both fronts), looming worldwide water shortages, along with rising oil costs and rising food prices.

While there are variations of CEF's, they all are pretty much based on hydroponics and tout the same economic efficiencies. They all can be located within cities or neighborhoods. They all run on electricity, require no pesticides, herbicides nor conventional fertilizers (all derived from fossil fuels). They produce crops year around, and depending on the technology, use from one-tenth to one-twentieth the water of conventional farms. They not only use less water, they can use recycled water from the surrounding communities.

One up and running venture was the phytofarm (re: Discover magazine December 1988, The Green Machine: Indoor Farming). This is a fully enclosed farm fed by artificial lighting where one acre can produce 100 times the yield of conventional farms (in the dead of winter). And while it was geared (literally) to produce leafy greens and herbs, there is practically nothing that cannot be grown indoors—albeit it would require a shift to growing some food in composted earth pots. Yet, while the project had a successful run for a number of years, in the end it lost out due to high-energy costs and closed its doors in the early 1990s. But with rising fuel costs, it becomes competitive, and we can open its doors again.
In the meantime greenhouses are up and running. And they are in the process of literally reaching new heights. Visionaries are proposing vertical farms—high rises with greenhouses stacked on one another (check out the technology on the internet). Yet they have not gotten off the ground, and so their technology remains unproven. But as venture capitalists get off their hands and get to work, this could quickly change.
And it has to change quickly. Without indoor farming the only choice for a world increasing in population while running out of oil and fresh water, is famine and death.
Here, we have to take the lead, and as we Johnny Appleseed these farms throughout the country, or economy grows as well as our confidence while taking the pressure off of conventional farms—that we’ll depend on well into the future. And consider this: While it’s O.K. to throw out money from helicopters to the people, imagine, instead of throwing billions into the wind, those tax rebates were invested in sustainable enterprises. A hundred billion dollars could have immediately funded the construction of three hundred and thirty vertical farms at a cost, at the high end, of three hundred million per building.
But investing in sustainable energy and sustainable agriculture is not going to be enough. We need a major construction boom. And it is not going to happen within the confines of urban sprawl. Nor should it. We are not addicted to oil, but to a pattern of development that is unsustainable.
To live here, cars and light trucks are a necessary fact of life. Not only a fact but are a status symbol (the bigger the better), but a fact and status that reflects our decline. Today owners of SUV’s and their light (heavy weight) truck cousins are feeling the pain at the pump and are not only upside in their loans, but are finding that their resale value have significantly dropped—they are stuck with a dinosaur or at best a lawn ornament.
But as some grieve their demise, understand they played a significant role in the depletion of our oil reserves, and now as we turn to the world for more, they are a major factor in driving up world prices, slowing down the global economy, pushing up our trade deficits while pushing the dollar to the edge of credibility. And in their production and use they produce air pollution as well as heat—pollutants that contribute significantly to global warming. And too, as they roll off of assembly lines they demand too much energy and resources for their infrastructure—and there are never enough highways. So there is a constant need to tear down homes and businesses to expand their capacity. And even as we enter and exit them, our roads are clogged. And just consider the costs of traffic lights. At the top end they cost $250,000 per intersection to regulate their flow—so, if we don’t find ourselves inching our way to work on our super-highways, we find ourselves idling away our time and our gasoline at intersections.
Sprawl is a phenomenon that survives by feeding on itself as it adds on more suburbs (and longer commutes). But since the housing crisis is in play, as we drift towards a depression few will be buying existing homes no matter if their prices do bottom out. More people will rent houses, move into smaller apartments, or move in with family and friends or rent rooms. The only new home construction here will be that of cardboard boxes (made in China) as more people lose their jobs.
Productivity is the hallmark of capitalism and the source of our prosperity. But in the case or urban sprawl prices and taxes go up while efficiency goes down. Meanwhile, as it grows, it reaches out for more water, food, energy and land. But it is the demand for land that is the primary threat as it bids up the price of real estate. The thing is, as the price of real estate went up, so did the sale price of everything, and to keep up to it was necessary for wages to go up—setting off a price/wage spiral that in itself is unsustainable. Nonetheless economists have always viewed homes and high-rises as assets—good investments. In reality they are a source of inflation driven by sprawl. And eventually, regardless of the current housing crisis, stagnating and declining wages would have brought on a similar crisis.
While economists refuse to believe that cities and their sprawling suburbs are a source of inflation, nonetheless the marketplace has been signaling all along, with high prices, for a better product. And while some cities proudly wear the sustainable label, they are among the most expensive places to live and do business. So even as they embrace indoor farming, they need to embrace the idea of competition to stabilize their cost of living.
It’s time to move beyond sprawl and shift our growing population to new cities. This isn’t to say we shouldn’t revitalize those cities on the edge, but with an expected seventy million per year population increase, we are going need a lot more cities. Cities that not only work hand in hand with nature, but do more with less. So out with old and in with the new. To do so, enlightened planners, politicians and investors are going to have to take the lead. And to a small to degree, they already have under the rubric of new urbanism. They have taken an old idea and made it new (check out Garden Cities of Tomorrow on the internet—here you will find the seeds for sustainable cities). Their plan is to reshape sprawl by building urban centers where homes and businesses are mixed within a short walk and travel is shifted to public transportation. But from here it is a short step to begin to build whole new cities (connected by railroads carrying passengers, cars, trucks, construction equipment and freight)—whose construction will ripple throughout the economy revitalizing our industrial, service, and tourist sectors (where taking the train is part of the package—while our auto infrastructure needs investment, more so does our railroad industry). Here, in the new cities, while some workers will be sending money back to their families, others become would-be homebuyers and lenders can feel confident in providing them with mortgage loans that will help finance their development. Here too there is a safe haven for those displaced by wildfires, droughts, floods, hurricanes, and tornadoes.
So first these investors and developers survey our regions, our nation for a sustainable niche and inexpensive land (owned entirely by the developers—no speculators here) and begin building new cities. And as they come up on exceeding the limits of the region, we move on and build new cities in other regions. This is a long neglected vision put forward by enlightened urban planners. We can neglect it no more.
And while there are many willing architects with their plans for cities (especially those who have gone to China to show them—instead of aping and outdoing the car-choked ego-centric cities of the west, look at us we are more stupid than you—this is how cities should be built) what’s one more model?
First, however, these are sustainable city planners and the first thing they plan for is either to eliminate cars, or greatly reduce their number. And second, these architects fully embrace green building and innovative technologies.

That said, this is how I see it: clusters of neighborhoods (linked by elevated transportation arteries shared by electric vehicles, bikes, pedestrians and rapid transit systems) will form the city. These neighborhoods are large terraced multi-storied structure sheltering thousands. Here their terraces are reserved for greenhouses and homes and their centers for fully controlled-environment farms, factories, convention centers and stadiums.
So, as you walk out into your neighborhood you encounter not hallways, but wide walkways, allies and breezeways lined with schools, libraries, theaters, businesses, shops, and restaurants—all within walking distance. And when you go to the first floor, at ground level you find barns (for pigs, beef and dairy cows, and chickens that are butchered—harvested next door) opening onto natural habitant mixed with organic farms, orchards, parks, playgrounds, and golf courses.
Here, instead of sending our table and produce straps, our unwanted leftovers, dry bread, spoiled fruit to landfills, we recycled them to neighborhood barnyards or to community organic orchards and gardens.
In their development, in the short-term they create hundreds of thousand jobs as we prepare for their building, and as they rise they will provide a steady stream of employment. And as they rise, existing cities will benefit as they provide the logistical support. And as the economy reboots people again can afford vacations, venture capitalists and locals can confidently invest in local sustainable enterprises (we have more than enough casinos and theme parks) further bootstrapping their economies. So as cities rise and sprawl stabilizes those homebuilders and high-rise developers can finish their projects and become part of the solution.
Not only do sustainable cities provide a sustainable stable source of energy, food and sustainable products, not only do they more with less, not only promote the rebuilding of our industrial base but they provide the economic benefit of lower taxes (since the infrastructure is fixed, so then are taxes), lower prices and greater efficiency. And as these cities rise they provide shelter from extreme weather and as they rise worldwide they become the long-term solution to global warming. So, altogether our economy becomes more efficient and robust and the world becomes a better place for all its inhabitants.
And as it does, as we channel investments into IPO’S for those enterprises, those entrepreneurs who rise to meet the sustainable challenge, the stock markets too becomes robust and produce their most important product—taxes on capital gains. So along with ending the tax cuts for the wealthy and a cut in military spending as the world shifts from conflict to cooperation, we pay down our debt, and eventual surpluses can be used to underwrite health care and the social security system. In the long term, when cities are fully sustainable, and stock markets stabilize and decline, they will provide their citizens with health care and provide for the social security of the elderly.
Cities are also the key to stabilizing global population growth. As nations modernize and urbanize their citizens have fewer children that fall below the replacement rate. As such their populations stabilize and then somewhat decline in the long term. There is, however a problem in the short-term. As countries modernize and urbanize they create what economists term mature economies, that is, along with a decline in population there is a decline in home construction and infrastructure and so a decline in economic growth and tax revenues threatening their entitlement packages. So most industrial nations turn to immigration as an answer to maintain their economies, to keep their population stable and the social fabric tightly knit. But immigrants do not easily assimilate and have more children exceeding the replacement rate and in so doing create social stress. Especially in the United States where immigration goes beyond what is necessary to maintain a stable population—it’s betting on growth to sustain its economy. Nonetheless, immigration will remain a fact of life in the short term. In the long term, as new cities rise in their homelands, immigration will decline.
Meanwhile, the U.S. is being invaded by millions of illegal immigrants. This is a problem because politicians haven’t come up with a simple guest worker program. There’s no point in sending them back. Have them provide the necessary information, give them a work card, and let them find jobs on their own. Putting up a border fence is not the answer. What we should be doing is mending fences—on both sides. If our economy is going recover, if we are going to pursue sustainable projects, we are going to need those workers from Mexico.
And as far as closing the borders to drug dealers, it is no time (is there a right time?) to be getting high, sober up, take that money and invest in the defense of your nation. And as to terrorists, no trespassing signs, no matter how high or wide, are going to keep them out.
In the meantime, we’ll work together with our neighbors Canada and Mexico in the development of sustainable cities—utilizing our workers, our resources, and our will to provide prosperity for all North Americans.
And what works for us, can work throughout the world. The industrialized nations should form an economic coalition (the moral equivalent to war) to assist the Palestinians, the nations of Afghanistan and Pakistan (first developing sustainable food and energy projects), and other nations, in the development of new cities that in turn sustain the economies of those participating countries. And Iraq should consider forming a coalition government, take its oil wealth, while it can, build up its infrastructure and begin the construction of their new cities (separating the factions or not).
Regardless what criticism may arise, this is a war economy, and it is how we win the ideological battle--it is how we fight World War III. A war that will be led by our captains of industry—those who contribute positively to the economy in contrast to the robber barons that simply take. This is not to say that the President, Congress, the Federal Reserve, governments at all levels and the people will not have a significant role to play—it means that if our corporate CEO,s, those who focus on the bottom line and their personal wealth and those geniuses who focus on exploiting currency and financial markets don’t step up, they put the war effort at risk.

There is also something that all nations should consider: that it is in their best interest to shift to a global economy where trade is no longer a zero-sum game, but a sustainable end game where everyone wins--it's about cooperation and balancing trade. There is a huge amount of work to make the transition to would-be sustainable cities and that requires that nations with a trade surplus, who are shifting their economies (their workers) to the development of new cities, turn to those nations with a trade imbalance--an imbalance in employment--take their foreign reserves and invest in or directly trade for whatever is necessary to facilitate and expedite the building of their cities.

Certainly, development cannot exceed available resources, but given a sustainable agenda and paced development (and perhaps a simplified city design that reflects the realities of available resources) there are no market uncertainties and investors and producers can feel confident in bringing the necessary commodities to market. While the people of developing nations can feel confident that their leaders will channel their resource revenues into the development of new cities--as a condition imposed by those enlightened countries that import those resources.

Now, those jobs going to China, India and elsewhere is a good thing. Instead of a zero-sum game, instead of a world teetering on the abyss of nuclear war, we now have a global alliance for peace and sustainability.
Humankind was conceived in ignorance. What is done is done. There’s no going back. If we remain ignorant, if we seek revenge for past injustices, if we don’t seek redemption for past transgressions—well, we are just too stupid to live. Freedom, rightly understood is that it is the spirit of the mind, the advance of knowledge that allows us to hurdle the obstacles that we created in our infancy. And as we put away our childish ways, we allow history to continue and so allow the truth, the underlying of reality of everything, to will out. This is God’s will.

DaBunny, your xenophobic bigoted white man attitude is the same that caused colonialization, the creation of third world countries, global warming, apartheid, weapons of mass destruction, extinction of thousands of plant and animal species across the world; truth is, white people represent the worst of the human race. Now when another country wants to build up the arms to prevent itself from being colonialized by whites again, you bigots label it as "commie", and think you're right. Dumb ass. Maybe you guys can just kill off all the yellows, the blacks, the deer, the ecosystem; just nuke them all because that what whites are good at doing: Then you'll have nothing left to shoot with your cowboy guns and hunting rifles but each other in your miserable little dead planet. Yippee kay yay you racist bastards! This forum is for losers; this is the first time I've come across it; the last time I'll come here!

When I read the article, I was wondering how will China be a threat to the US? She just doesn't want to be bullied again that's all, I mean which nation would want those massacre and unfair treaties to be imposed on them? Remember 1962, it was India who wanted China as a partner to counter the Western powers. China distrusted India as the Indians adopted the 'forward policy' and intruded on Chinese territory since the Indians set up military posts north of the McMahon Line. But it was all a misunderstanding and a war was started. Just as the US claimed what she considered her states during the American civil war when the southern states seceded, is China 'expansionists' when she Claimed Tibet? How about US taking Mexican lands in the past, is it on Bush agenda to cede land back? A 'friendly to US and Europe' China would be beneficial to the West. Take about fighting rogue Islamic states like Iran and Iraq, a resurgent Russia and terrorism.

National strategies aimed at making the US unable to use the GPS system for guiding weapons is stupidity of the first degree, yes GPS weapons are acurate and deadly but overall they are a lot less deadly than a lot of our other capabilities. In a war scenario if a target has to be destroyed it will be. If that means we can neutralize it with a 500lb GPS guided weapon then awesome. If GPS is down and due to the range involved the only thing that can assure destruction of the target is nuclear weapons then we've still got lots and lots and lots of those. So really disabling US GPS can be looked at like this: China is staring at a fantasically well armed surgeon, we can acurately destroy almost anything we want fairly quickly. If China knocks the scalpel out of our hand and kicks sand in our eys, we still generally know where stuff is and we'll use the sledge hammer.

if this scenario should ever happen it would be a very limited victory for US or THEM, so what are we going to stand for or give up? that is the question thats around the corner.

When evaluating a source, consider the source.

The "Union of Concerned Scientists" is NOT a neutral body by any means - it is a left-wing political organization. Their didsmissal of concerns re: China's system may be true - but then, a tobacco company's claim that smoking dangers are wildly overstated may also be true. A wise listener will understand the inherent biases at work and take both with a grain of salt, seeking to test their claims with greater rigor.

Especially when you look at the author's actual expertise, which is far outside the realm of military satellite systems or the military generally.

Or when you consider that China isn't exactly a transparent democracy, and so published budgets mean little - especially in military-related matters. A rather elementary insight for a supposed "expert" to miss.

There's a lot we don't know about Compass at this point, and many of the unknowns revolve around some pretty technical questions related to military (and hence not widely discussed) aspects of the GPS network.

The political and funding unknowns, meanwhile, are likely to remain unknowns until we can see defined events taking place. Given the 20-year planning cycle required for somethinglike a GPS satellite constellation, by then it's a bit late. The UCS "contribution" to that part of the discussion is minimal, verging on negative value.

Hello friends,

I could not resist to smile a little bit about this forum. Most US people paid for starting wars are really getting nervous anytime a non-US country starts some high-tech project. I think it would be best to divide the world into let's say for a start three parts. T for terror states, U for the US terror state and N the other normal states. We currently have accomplished phase 1 where we have this division. Next is to let the U and T states fight against each other and the outcome will be that U survives. As long as that phase goes on the N states have to come up with nitty gritty technology for the later fight. Of course this is done below U's radar. Unfortunately the chinese and EU people sometimes drop some information e.g. about their GPS replacements or submarines kicking enemy troops ass. Nevertheless after the phase finished N will obviously face U. At that time N has developed as much force to kick U from earth. Yes, first things first, even if that results in a big bang. Then the world will be in a position to focus on real problems, without troublemaker U hanging around. The resources U currently eats up can be spent much more useful.

Sincerely,

a friend

Oh, I forgot, you only understand short sentences. If you have trouble with reading, then please ask someone with higher education.

Cool off (Bill) Holden! Let the man rant. What are you an antiranter? BTW, They could give Japan and China (the PRC) a run for their profits, if the Koreas reunited peacefully! According to the Jaye Scenario ground and space Asat Warfare and Jamming will play a critical part in the opening stages of a PRC invasion of Taiwan, which should be happening in just under 30 days from now. It will happen just after a typhoon hits the island and will be ultra quick, lethal and legal according to the PRC's Anti Secession law, etc., etc. Ouch Taiwan, you were warned!

Oh, and you spelled "color" wrong. There's no "u" in it in this, the best country on the planet!.

Mike, dude, not a lot going on at four in the morning, eh? Or at least nothing as important as getting those 9,727(!) inane words out onto the Internet. I bet there are doctoral theses in quantum mechanics shorter than your "blurb". I think I only made it through the first couple hundred before realizing what a waste of my time it would be to try to wade through your quagmire.

A word of advice - work on your sentence structure, grammar, and word choice. Maybe invest in a thesaurus. Also, your sentences are way too long. Can you say "run-on"? You maxed out one sentence at 158 words(!) and averaged 33 per sentence. Can you take constructive criticism? I'd say you're a TEEny bit verbose. A blast at all those parties you must get invited to, but a wee bit wordy when your audience isn't as gassed as yourself.

Posted by: Wade Gregory at June 21, 2006 06:53 PM

Wow... congratulations on writing an entire essay about your opinion.

Isn't that lovely. You have the Constitutional right to say that... pretty neat if you ask me. It's a real shame you don't have a constitutional right to have even one person actually read it all through.

I hope you feel proud of yourself for that. Take your opinions and put them in some obscure place on the internet to make yourself feel better about having done your part. If you don't like how the system works... try and fix it. Don't come over here complaining about it. Either do something to make it better, or leave. I'm sure Canada would love to have you back... in fact I heard North Korea is accepting immigrants of your particular political position aswell -.-

It's all the US's FAULT anyway. The PROBLEM is that instead of SEEING to real peace-keeping, the US is a totally hellish country, and has been rather all along. It has been, unfortunately, but really. Based on today's laws and conventions, there's no way that either the US or Canada could form governments, definitely not the way that happened anyway. Both would be strongly condemnable under not only international laws and conventions, but also national ones.

No one today is authorised, legally, and morally, to do anything like that, but the US and Ca are allowed to continue with much IMPUNITY. Reparations have been called for, and some promised, but none provided. And with increasing human population in the world, it's normal that this will spread; ending up with, gradually, less space.

But I don't see China as an enemy. I prefer to see China as a truly potential ally, while needing to be truly honest. I have NO cause to want to hide anything from China, unless it persecutes for pot-smokers, say; in which case there'll be some silence (and which of course no longer is).

NO. NO. NO. NO. ... I DO NOT see any cause for any hostility between the world's nations; both nationally and internationally. This needs to be resolved, seriously worked on, for we need to get it done and over, so that we in turn don't have to have such worries again. It's very bad, stressful, and needs to be ended. F... it. It needs to stop.!

What kind of gripe can I possibly have against any other particular country, as opposed to first paying attention to my own (US and Ca)? Starting as locally as the most proximate problems are is a healthy way to procede; accomplishing some tasks along the way to the end. It's related to "take the log (or plank) out of your own eye, before trying to take the small speck out of the eye of another person", and "you need to have walked in another person's shoes to be able to fully understand him or her" (paraphrased quotation, not exact; but same meaning).

China may hate the gutts of the US, but it's not the sole country to do so. Most don't like the US; just fear it, while having reason to do so, too.

The problem is not working on real peace making.

WE lack real peace-makers, in sufficiently high level positions anyway, to make a real impact on the wrong-headed path. Plenty of the overall population is against this war, but the war is continued, boosted, speech-wise anyway, now and then, etc.

Quote: >.

That's Prousalis' and surely many other hypocrites' opinion, and they can have it all they want. It doesn't change reality, and one truth in it is that there really is nothing to love about the USA.

We never do know ourselves well, until we face up to the hard truths about ourselves, and this is something TOO MANY Americans obstinately refuse to do, instead prefering to regularly live in DENIAL, after denial, after denial; in LIES.

For non-Christian members of the US military, so be it, it's their choice; but for Christian members, this fellow Christian has this to say: BEWARE of Jesus' words that definitely have real and serious pertinence for us to always keep them carefully in mind; f.e., what he said to the hypocrite religious people he addressed, like when having said that they are "not sons of God, but of the father of lies, rape, murder, ...".

Given that the US military is highly composed of (so-called and obviously very false) Christians, the above and many other words of Jesus, as well as especially His conduct, Way, these matters are all and strongly pertinent for those people wishing to be true to real Christian faith; and given that this Christian is not so idiotic that he cannot realise that this is definitely true, according to true Christian faith anyway, well, let's call this sharing words of advice.

Stop supporting LIES, wars of criminal aggression, greed, etc., etc., etc., or else remember what Jesus promised will happen to false prophets, preachers, maliciously pretending to speak in His holy name. After all, what He said about them is fitting for every level or order of being Christian; not only applying to ordained ministers. His words apply to all professing to be of His following and fellowship, and He despises liars pretending that He supports their evil ways.

That is the only way to understand Him, for it is how He taught that he is to be understood, and while certainly having known what he was talking about. And one of those teachings is that any of His followers CANNOT serve both evil and God; it's one or the other, and [never] both. Sure, Christians committing sins can be Forgiven by God, if and only if they or we truly repent though; and yet not if we deliberately sinned. Probably the very worst order of sin is to simply but in evil manner reject God and His Love, yet to pretend that we don't do this, all while simultaneouly and concretely, especially when seriously so, reject adhering to the commandments of Jesus and God.

In the list of the Beatitudes that Jesus taught in the Sermon on the Mount is the one in which he said, "Blessed be the peace-makers", and that is not what unfortunately most Americans have represented, ever. To support and or launch, or command, wars of aggression is to be anti-peace-maker(s), not peace-makers, and if the latter are blessed by Jesus and therefore God the father, then the former certainly are not blessed by Them; and it's never a good thing to fall out from God's Will and Way, being something that definitely requires serious REPENTENCE.

And that is the real position Americans have allowed themselves to end up in, one needing major REPENTENCE. To all of military service, law enforcement, etc., and who participate in supporting evil, IDIOTICALLY as well as out of actual hypocrisy, greed, etc., and while pretending to be Christians, these people need to REPENT and en masse; and the well is very dry, there being awfully little repentence present for real refreshment.

Reacquainting ourselves very well with what Jesus taught about the essential need to REPENT is a very important and rather necessary matter for real health. This means to not avoid performing examinations of conscience, very profound and careful exams; without it, we're done for, having then no recourse to God's Love and Justice, and therefore Kingdom.

And this actually applies with regards to all of the wars of aggression mentioned in my prior post, that is, including the one on Afghanistan, which could not be justified, for the Taliban are who were warred upon, and they had nothing to do with the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. It is total hypocrisy and hegemony that was applied to them, instead of anything even remotely qualifiable as peace-making efforts. Remember, G.W. Bush himself criminally threatened the Taliban regime over the oil pipeline deal that the US or GWB et al were trying to negotiate with the Taliban; having told them, when they had decided to back out of concluding the deal, that they had to accept to receive carpets of either gold or bombs. If they kept backing out, it was carpets of bombs that was to be the answer of the US government, i.e., GWB et al, and all of their supporters; whereas if they completed the deal, then they were to receive "carpets of gold". He said that, not I; not being something that is fabricated, as if a story that did not really happen.

Ever hear or read about 'war clouds'? It was during the morning of a day either four or five days prior to Sept. 11, 2001, when I was outdoors observing Nature, and while speaking to God about all of the horrendous problems, injustices in our world, and committed by us, humans. Suddenly a real 'war clouds' event developed, and it was very carefully observed for I'd say 15 minutes, if not a bit longer, and with also very careful evaluation it turns out to have been indeed such an omen sort of matter. And it illustrated or symbolised rather absolutely nothing about the events of Sept. 11, 2001; while having otherwise been strongly symbolic of everything that followed, the wars of entirely criminal aggression and with major aerial bombardments by the US on both Afghanistan and Iraq. Meanwhile, no timeline was symbolised, such as for some idea, any idea of how long this would all last; and the US has already commenced its military aggression on Iran, too.

Not only that, it's very much like the war on Iraq, which did NOT begin in March 2003, but rather in spring the year before, during May (2002) I believe to recall. Plenty of preparatory and entirely criminal operations were conducted in order to ensure that Iraq would be all the easier to launch officialised war upon, to eliminate defences.

And the Nuremberg Principles do apply to soldiers, instead of only to state leaders and military officers!!!

When people cease supporting hell reigning on earth, then the world will have a chance of making some real, truly authentic progress; instead of constantly having hell's reign imposed on us and with total ruthlessness for "extra icing".

China's only doing what it NATURALLY should be doing, and perhaps would have been better off having already finished years ago.

But, and lastly, in my first post here I said that if the US launches war on China, then I'll be hands-off with respect to China nuking the US, well: 1) I will indeed be the latter, for I could not take a punch (back) at China, because it's only then acting based on defence, and in absolutely no worse manner than the so-called and false Christian nation known as the USA, the US would've been the CAUSE, not China; and, 2), no, I don't wish for the US to be nuked by anyone, including their own elected "leaders", who are mostly all and very criminal, white-collar gangsters, etc.

No, I don't wish for nuclear war, but if the US launches even one more war of criminal aggression, which is entirely unjustifiable and therefore unsupportable, then so be it; if some nation decides to launch nukes at the US, so be it then. It'll be the US' FAULT!!!

True idiots don't understand REALITY, but this idiot [does]. And only true idiots choose to oppose God's Will and Way, and to therefore really, or inherently, be "sons of not God but of the father of lies, ...". The biggest idiot of all is Satan, but he/it is also a very cunning idiot, with regards to human idiots anyway; easily fooling them and regularly so.

There definitely should be NO Roman Catholics serving in the US military, at least not while simultaneously supporting EVIL; such people being then, or otherwise, addressable with Jesus' words on how it is we can discern if someone is of God's reign, or not, that is, whether they are sons of His, or instead of the father of lies, ....

But, and really, there should be absolutely NO Christians supporting evil, ever.

That is also one very important reason for why it is that military personnel cannot rely much on so-called and false prophet Christain chaplans (chaplains?) serving in military "arenas"; like, to definitely realise that those who mocked truly CONSCIONABLE, or conscientious if you prefer, US troops who saught help while in Iraq, during the early-enough part of this present war, to realise that such ministers are of the false nature that Jesus warned seriously about with strong condemnation for them.

That is according to The True Jesus of Nazareth, whom Christians refer to as the Christ, i.e., Messiah, or, alternatively, Anointed One (meaning specially anointed and by God), or ... (I am presently forgetting what the third "option" is, but while knowing that it's of similar enough order; some more-or-less minor nuances in meaning between the three, but all meaning character of welcome and peace-making, ..., nature). But a lot of Christians evidently do not know the true Jesus, for they're awfully and regularly CONTRARY to him, which means to be antiChristian in nature and in the truest sense humanly possible for then it is treason against him and therefore God the Father, from "within" (apparent, surface-apparent) Christian ranks.

"Blessed be the peace-makers", therefore also "blessed be the real justice makers", "blessed be those who refuse to serve evil, and especially when very instead of serving God", etc., etc., etc. It leaves little promise for all who are opposed, for there is no way anyone can possibly oppose God's Will and Way and while winning; all who try will inherently LOSE. God is against war-making, hatred, heinousness, bigotry, hypocrisy, hegemony, greed, usury, not truly loving and therefore caring for our neighbours, who happen to be international in scope, etc., etc., etc. On this planet we are all neighbours, just that some are more proximate than others. Good neighbours, or neighbours living in good conduct, they communicate, talk with and help each other, etc., etc.; while bad neighbours, they commit injustices against each other, ruthlessly or insanely feud in violent ways, etc., etc.; and that contributes to helping to make it clear that all of humanity lives within a planetary context of [neighbours]. There are no political, bla bla bla, boundaries to the definition of what it means to be neighbours in God's Reign, for it is Universal (of course not in terms of incorporating evil, which was long ago expelled from Heaven, like in the story of the hellish, arrogant rebellion of Satan and the others that followed his way, for there can be no evil in God's Reign, Kingdom).

This simply requires developing a real CONSCIENCE, and to learn to know what true REPENTENCE means, as well as to work at mastering being repetentent; mastering, not as in what trickster mentality might concoct, but true repetence, which indeed is very refreshing and Liberating for experience.

Too many Americans render the culture one that is BIGOTTED, etc., very evil, really, and this citizen is not going to ever support this kind of conduct, approach, or whatever you want to call it. To do otherwise, I basically or really would have to (silently, sure, and as is a rather too regular theme in the US) be a TRAITOR, TREASONOUS, and I won't betray by lying about Truth. I will not betray by lying to anyone about anything that truly is of their business, important for them to know; while "witch hunting" fools can, however, get lies, denials from me, because it's then a matter of committing not injustice, but to instead prevent, work, guard against injustices, like hypocrisy, hegemony, bigotry, greed, etc., etc., etc.

The Prince of Darkness, i.e., Evil, reigns much over our world, but this is something for Christians to NOT fall in line with, but rather Against. Christians [always] have the obligation to try to carefully discern the differences between right and wrong, and to always refuse to partake in wrongs being committed; regardless against whom or who the wrongs are aimed. It does not matter what another person's religious faith is, or not, Christians are strongly warned by Jesus to not support wrongs against ANYONE; or wrongs against anything. F.e., Jesus certainly would not support us abusing other animals; and if that's true, then He most definitely would warn very strongly against supporting wrongs against other people, REGARDLESS of what religious faiths they hold, or not.

Here's a little "dose" of what true Christian faith teaches. And anyone who calls or thinks of this as IDIOTIC is of the really, truly foolish order that Jesus strongly condemned. Such people actually, underneath the surface anyway, for they (tricksterishly, as evil workers really are in nature attempt to achieve) also do really treat Jesus as idiotic; although only when they try to fool humans, or other humans (depending on what the human, vs not, nature of the being is), for demons don't go around trying to fool animals or beings which do not possess conscience, or the ability to develop conscience; significant conscience anyway (speaking of conscience as not merely being aware of surroundings, but of being able to also and seriously analyse moral issues; for, after all, other animals possess certain degrees of real awareness, but don't otherwise deal with moral issues, not per se anyway, and while we're to honingly develop our consciences in order to be able to receive and understand what God's Will and Way are).

It's reflected, too, in all humans. Regardless of religious faiths, we do find people who are of very welcome conscience; and in this we can refer to the parable of the Good Samaritan. Of course Jesus would have preferred that such individuals would become of direct or immediate fellowship with Him, but recognising that there were actual reasons for them to keep a distance (and, no, just because of him, but based on social culture and history, and religious discrimination, etc.), of no real fault of their own, he expressly taught about how he appreciated the good works of such others. He and God love good works and good will, which go together, and which Jesus clearly used the example of the Good Samaritan to teach that people of totally different faiths are also and truly human, and can and do indeed act out good will towards others of yet again different faiths; not being bigotted, etc.

This unfortunately does not describe the USA; far from it. It extremely is NOT a Good Samaritan kind of country, although yes, sure, there are citizens and other residents who are of seriously good-will nature. It's just that the nation, overall, does not reflect good will and works, but evil, instead; a lot of evil; war-making, destroying truly democratically elected states or governments, oppressing, etc., hellishly acting against the poor and indigenous peoples of our world, being greedy [as hell], extremely usurious, etc., etc., etc.

There are grand citizens and residents, but they do not define the overall and majorly impactful, adverse nature of the country. And the nation is in extreme need of having a LOT more of these types of individuals, to give the country a new definition and for Americans as well as the whole world to benefit from having.

Bush said that he had been having private conversations with God, and during which, Bush said, God told schmuck Bush to attack rather totally defenceless, and NON-threatening Iraq. Oddly, Americans haven't clued into the FACT that other people, of the non-privileged casting anyway, when this happens to us, and we commit even one single murder, homicide, or rape, or "just" battery against or of another person, then we're sought by law enforcement, and when caught, put through trial, convicted, sentenced, and serve a considerable number of years behind bars, sometimes, if not often, in isolationary confinement cells, and at least some of those being padded, to try to prevent the jailed from hurting themselves, f.e. But, oh no, when it's schmuck (and yes the man's definitely a schmuck, by definition anyway, but definition matched to real character, his) people who go through this, then they're suddenly deemed to be sane and right, or righteous; like in line with God's Will and Way, as if God and Satan intermittenly switch positions, say.

'War clouds'; does this guy know what he's talking about, or is he completely nuts, or somewhat insane? Oh, he's got to be the latter eh, and we're going to keep supporting and encouraging hell's reign on earth, while pretending to be good Christians; to help to give Jesus all the more cause for CHAGRIN, if not wrathful anger (but which other people don't realise, because Jesus and God wonderfully stay very silent, because God granted freedom of will, for it's the only way that He could establish the possibly of having us exist in truly Loving relationship with Him).

We should wonder, sometimes, what's really going on inside of people's minds. After all, humans possessing will-power, the ability to realise that options exist and to then be able to make actual choices between the set(s), well, many obviously choose Wrongly; and in such people, we rightly can and possibly should wonder about what's really going on, silently, deniably, but nevertheless really.

If we did not apply that kind of evaluation of ourselves, introspectively in our own, individual cases, for personal self-evaluation, as well as on the broader or general basis, then it would only be all the easier to be FOOLED into supporting evils.

According to Jesus and the Ten Commandments, as well as whatever there are for the grand prophets of the O.T., and then Francis of Assis, Ignatius of Loyola, and so on, up to former but very recently so Archbishop Oscar Romero, the present Fr Gerard Jean-Juste, and others, including M.L.K. Jr, among again others, well, like sister Dorothy Day, too, and others, well, the sole real responsibility and calling for US military service members who believe to and really wish to be truly Christian is to REFUSE to follow orders that are of criminal, unjustifiable order; and, yet, that is also what the US Constitution itself, and international laws and conventions also demand that we follow, adhere to. In this case, we have Biblical Scripture proving that DISSENT is the only valid action, while also having US and international laws and conventions which strongly back this up.

A soldier has a duty to obey officers, but if and only if the latter adhere to their oaths the way that both morally, ethically, and legally has to be done, which is to never allow the C.i.C. to overrided the US Constitution, which is the legal bedrock or foundation of US law. Whenever officers are out of line, subordinate soldiers have the duty to disobey, DISSENT.

And it is FAR better and healthier for one's soul to stick with Jesus through-and-through, entirely, than it is to risk being CONTRARY to Him and therefore to God's Will and Way. No matter what the cost to us is in this world, if we choose rightly or righteously, against Wrong, then we will be Eternally rewarded; go against, and Eternity is a LOT longer than the short lifetimes we know of in this world.

Any clergy, ordained fools of "not sons of God, but of the father of lies, ...", these bastardisations of humanity are to be REJECTED. Stay away from them, anyone who truly wishes to authentically follow Jesus.

From one Christian to others of the faith, or at least professing to also be, I can't emphasise more that Christians really need major WAKING UP. False prophets, preachers, and their followers only do one thing for true Christianity; EVIL.

Ok, sure, Jesus said to keep church, therefore religion, and state separate. Granted, and fully so. The problem is to avoid confounding that with meaning that when states order us to obey evil orders that we must then comply, as if then being legitimately capable of or qualified to keep the two realms distinct; and it is not what Jesus meant. When he said that we CANNOT serve both God and evil, Jesus was entirely serious, wasn't joking around!!! Nor was He joking when he said, "Blessed be the peace-makers", which in turn involves more than what only appears as peace-making, for it in turn requires justice-making, etc., like Jesus taught; such as about looking after the marginalised, the poor in real need, the wrongfully persecuted, and so on; to always stand against INJUSTICE(s).

Being Kind, Heaven will reward many-times-over, many many times more; FULLY. Being unkind gets the opposite result.

To hell with the hellish ways of Bilderbergs, etc. Their NWO bs is only that, but also and only of Hell's reign.

Idiot? Sure. Ok. Problem is that there's absolutely nothing idiotic about real peace and justice, and curbing our evil ways. Anyone who argues to the contrary is The IDIOT, and has been a major sucker of schmucks like Satan and his ilk.

Make your choices about how you wish to live, because it's how we're going to also die and pass on ... to whatever awaits us ahead. Idiots like myself CARE about such Truths, but not only for our own sakes, though.

Military families, the Christian ones at least, who are not in military service themselves but who have loved ones who are, let me give you a word of "street wisdom", here; you need to focus on what the real reality of all that's going is, and to then help your loved ones WAKE UP to REALITY. There presently is, and arguably so, no greater Calling for you, than to help WAKE UP your sons, daughters, or relatives' sons and daughters, or those of your neighbours.

Wanting to truly be Christian [means] being able to accept to follow the Way, which is as per the Passion of Christ. Choose to side with Right, or with Wrong, but either way, you [choose], and you will receive the consequences; no, not here, of course and obviously not, for evil doers reap great amounts of what they really have absolutely no need of, hoard it, and additionally work on capitalising on it, a lot that they have absolutely no need of and which would be very beneficial to MANY others who are in need. After this life, however, matters are going to procede very differently.

Again, this is with regards to Christian readers, people who think that they are Christian anyway; it's not for atheists or people who otherwise DISAGREE with true Christian teaching. Hence, the latter can respond with "Mike Corbeil is an idiot", but their views are rather entirely insignificant, IMPERTINENT to me, for we definitely are on totally distinct paths in life. My words herein anyway are meant only for "so-called" Christian members of the US military and their loved ones, or those of them who are also believing to be Christian; that is, from Christian to Christian. Anyone else is welcome to read, but if any DISAGREE, then there's certainly NO POINT in us sharing in any discussion whatsoever, for such people then and basically are as LOST as hell is, as far as I'm personally concerned. (Ever hear or read of a Chistian, a sound, intelligently aware one anyway, trying to convert Satan to Christianity? I haven't. But one thing Satan and his ilk would definitely want to focus on badly messing up is Christianity, because Satan and his ilk basically are synonymous with AntiChrist.)

Hence, readers can understand that I really don't care about DISAGREE-ERS. They won't make any really significant difference, never have, and must never do so; except for the hell they reign in on INNOCENTS all around our world. In the latter case, yes, bastards of humanity make a real difference, and I love the story of Joan of Arc, for she definitely and strongly illustrated the kind of heart, soul, person that I greatly appreciate.

Hell has sucked in a lot of people, obviously.

NO MORE wars of aggression, for those are ALL and entirely criminal and unjustifiable!!! NO MORE INJUSTICES at all!!! Those are all condemnable, too!!! NO MORE hypocrisy, hegemony, biggoted bs, heinousness, trying to trick people into believing that the US Constitution can be legitimately used against itself, such as when trying to defencively aruge that we have a right to call people of other races, religions, etc., with hellish references, like 'nigger' for people of African origin, f.e. We cannot legitimately do such things, because the Constitution says that there is to be no unjust violence unto others, and even racist slurs, whatever they're called, are acts of violence; it's just that we simply need to understand that violence occurs not only physically, because it also happens non-physically, and racist bs is psychological violence, criminal aggression!!!

Etc., etc., etc. The world has a heck of a lot of GROWING UP to do, or achieve; a LOT. Am "white" but won't stand for Wrong, and wrong is wrong! How about trying to be Mature! It'd be greatly Refreshing if we humans would indeed and broadly become Mature, but even with Great teachings of that orientation and of 2,000 years ago, as well as from before, and from people of various religious faiths, as well as atheists, we still aren't but barely struggling to be or become really Mature. It's been a very LONG TIME folks; it's time to WAKE UP to REALITY.

Let's do so.

Idiot, maybe;

Mike Corbeil

Canadian-American-Canadian (born and raised in US of Quebec-originating folks, and nearly four centuries of heritage, so there's trivial, very little US history in this family; although Ca also is very guilty of crimes of war and against human rights and dignity, so there's no major escape here, either; culturally, politically, the like; still OWING a LOT to the indigenous, First Nations people(s) of this land, and I don't like being indebted, but when it is so, it simply is so)

(And as you can see, because of my real heritage, which prior to around 1660, was of France, the nation of the grand Joan of Arc, well, I have less reason or cause to be bigottedly American, i.e., US citizen. Yet I also realise that both Ca and Fr. are also guilty of rather extreme crimes against humanity, plenty of evils. I don't want to live in DENIALS of truths; never to be against, is Truth. Never; except when it involves acting to counter evils, injustices, in which case, sure, I'll lie. Why not? It's the far better route to take; else you then find yourself literally complicit in the committance of the injustices!)

Don't worry, just because my heritage is mostly Canadian, of Quebec, Franco, ..., and prior to that of France, this does not mean that I don't recognise the Wrongs of these countries, ALSO. They're also very bad, but not as much as the US, and Ca was made the strongest supporter of the build-up for the hellbent war of aggression on Iraq, because of hellishly stupid RC and former PM Jean Chretien; and we can, again, add its roles imposed upon Canadians for or with respect to the wars of entirely criminal and unjustifiable aggression against the Taliban, in Afghanistan, and the very important case of Haiti. (Lovely, eh, coming from a heritage that has no truly Noble nature. Oh well, neither does anyone else! There's no overwhelmingly present, or simply persavive, good, vs evil, anywhere, really; it is human nature, regardless of religious ....)

That's my "material" heritage folks, all hellbent societies; but then so are all nations in this world, because it obviously, strongly so too, is NOT of God's Reign, Kingdom, but very much doing Hell's bidding.

Don't worry, I don't favour China, or ..., over any other country or nation or people, always looking only to what is Just, to aim against what is Unjust. "Nice and simple", really. I have no energy to "spare" for heinousness, needing to focus on what's Just, vs Unjust, and then trying to harpoon the latter, or try to [corral] and thereby control it, which of course and obviously is not a matter that is short of miraculous order, to accomplish.

F.e., who of us can [corral] and control the Bilderbergs and their likes, who hellishly were granted a sick privilege to hold a meeting in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, this month? None of us, and very much because our state "leaders" are [in bed] with these hellbent schmucks of our world. Ya don't wanna get anywhere near such bastards of humanity unless you're [with] them, or willing to be Crucified, too. After all, they are, Biblically, Scripturally so, yes, indeed, of Hell's reign on earth, of Satan's crowd.

This world really is a long story between Awareness, of the real kind (which can be and sometimes is referred to as real Enlightenment, for becoming really aware, after all, is to become enlightened; which is not necessarily tied or related to anything of occult order whatsoever, this depending only on what's really meant and or involved), and Darkness, i.e., evil. It's a battle, which can be mainly described only in metaphorical terms, because we cannot prove (concretely) any further than this, not even in or with mere logical arguments. That's the most we can really do, and that is why religious faith is just that, faith, rather than Fact; because we cannot illustrate or defend it in tangible terms; only in a type of moral way, can we argue what makes sound sense, vs not. We can't even prove that committing an injustice against another person, or oneself, is bad in tangible terms; only being able to do so in ways which are based on human intuition and argument, with some statistics to try to back up what we say, f.e. But the sound logic, arguments, and which are adequately based or baseable in reality, these are sound, healthy, and do tell us a lot more than if we only went based on what we can only measure in purely tangible terms.

That is, we NEED to adopt and apply non-materialistic, -egotistical, -selfish, -greedy, ..., manners to consider overall Reality. If we don't do this, then there really is no basis at all for laws, except for hellish tyrannical sorts, who of course want and seek to oppress, abusively exploit others and the world in all terms, etc. In that case, if we're to go that way, then we should have then no laws about seeing to justice being rendered, except for the UNJUST "justice" that the hellish reigners or "leaders" of our world would possess and impose on [others]; not on themselves, of course not, for hellbent fools don't apply punishment unto themselves but only unto others and, especially, INNOCENTS.

That is true Christian faith, but most clergy members prefer to stay silent about what this really is, for they COWARDLY fear the power of states, militarised ones anyway. It's one reason why the RCC, under the empireship of Constantine I believe, if not before, or just a "bit" afterwards, accept the emprivilegement that the empire, state provided; with respect to the ordained IDIOTS being exempted from needing to "positively" respond to conscription, military drafting, while the very same church 'fathers' agreed with the state that all other members of the church, at least of the Laity anyway, were to be conscriptable, and to "positively" answer to such state demands.

It's a peculiar reality in an odd way, because the very last pope or popes were SUPPOSEDLY prophesied, and the last or next to last one, nearly that anyway, is to be Peter-ian, and to help "feed" or turn over the church's flocks, i.e., (mostly anyway) Laity, to states' hellishness, while the so-called and FALSE clergy would abide with this and actually help to make it so. This started happening at least as of when the RCC accepted the above agreement with the Roman Empire, and we've had other such, so-called Peter-ian papacies ever since, as well as having another one right now, today. In this respect, it's like the Book of Revelations, Apocalypse of John ?. (of some John during the earliest period of Christianity anyway, and apparently or purportedly not of apostle John), well, it's like it keeps repeating itself; in some respects anyway. One minute, okay, I recognise it, but then we also recognise the same applying far in the past, too. And we already have concrete proof that the present pope has spent too many times already climbing in bed with states' hellish reigns; but he's not the first. Even former Pope JP II was very oriented against humanity's cause, needs, ..., except when it came to war, which was something that he had personally experienced and therefore well knew of the outcomes of for aggressed people, and which therefore was very simple to realise his motivations. When it came to EXTREME capitalism, greed, ..., and all of the extremely awful consequences this has for humanity, however, he was on the opposite side of humanity; and we have no such "telling" of Jesus in the Bible; NONE. Biblically, Jesus never [sided] with Hell's reign on earth and humanity, but while he also made it clear, in teaching, that we, people truly intending to be real followers, need to understand that real and, especially, full Justice will not be of this world's rendering; it won't be, and by far usually isn't.

"Good" things happen to a lot of evil doing people, while "bad" things happen to a LOT of INNOCENT people who only need help, just and plain friendly, neighbourly, Good Samaritan-like help. Jesus also taught, however, that appearances are certainly deceptive, and to be very aware of this Reality; therefore, when we deem that "good" things happen to UNDESERVING people, vs "bad" happening, and being [done] to also UNDESERVING people, who instead DESERVE friendly, neighbourly help, and nothing more, well, we need to be careful of the appearances. In the latter case, yes, definitely, the people absolutely need and deserve AID, major aid; but while in the former case, what appears to be something good happening to UNDESERVING people is not good at all, that is, NOT for them, because they ALREADY have MORE than what they need; not even being able to intelligently help other people who are in real and very serious need, with all of the excess that's possessed. The latter is SICK hoarding, and am not speaking of people who "psychotically" hoard mere objects that are of rather no value to anyone, really, or perhaps worth saving, but nevertheless being of overall little value; I'm speaking of people who piggishly hoard what is of no use to them while being of great need to others really in NEED.

Ya see, the whole military training, etc., NEEDS to be REFORMED, to WORK on making it what it should be, and NOTHING worse; and that is to adhere to Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, like the Beatitudes, in turn, "Blessed be the peace-makers".

Humans have POTENTIAL, and it very much is INHERENT in Jesus' coming and teaching, but we've too much strayed from paying very careful attention to this aspect of our natures; that we do have real POTENTIAL to really Follow Jesus and His Way, therefore God's Will and Way.

This is what military service members all over the world need to hear and or read, that is, those who are Christian anyway.

Else, we'd have a Christian religion in which there's awfully little difference between good and evil, for then God, through Jesus, would be telling us that the distinction between the two, good and evil, really does't matter; that all we need to do is to love God, and then we can commit all of the evils our hearts desire. And that just is NOT Christian teaching.

Any idea how many Iraqis have been murdered so far because of this hellbent war of entirely criminal aggression, and which is ONGOING? Try close to 300,000; and yet, that's little compared to what the real toll of this warring is going to COST to humanity, and not only for Iraqis, but also for US troops. That country is now a rather PERMANENT DEATH VALLEY, making a mockery of the so-called "Death Valley" of the US, in Nev.-Calif., which is, as far as I'm presently aware anyway, environmentally SAFE. Iraq is now one majorly and radioactively or radiologically (?) POISONED land, and all troops of the US's hellbent coalitian are involved in terms of being also POISONED.

(More importantly, however, is the fact that Iraqis NEVER invited this hellbent war of aggression; many asinine expatriates called for it, supported it, because of their cursably non-understood hatreds of Saddam Hussein and his regime's ways, or acts, but only supported until finally WAKING UP to the real Reality of what this war entails for [all] Iraqis; that is, they let anger and hatred "get ahead of themselves", instead of thinking CLEARLY. That is being truly IDIOT, letting one's anger, hatreds, ..., take over the control's of one's life, existence; instead of welcoming the presence, reality, of such emotions, memories, etc., and then utilising this "power" of recognition to in turn turn this into CONSTRUCTIVELY channeled paths. I have not as extreme but nevertheless sufficiently similar hatreds, anger, etc., but don't let it control me; although, do let it "at least" cause me to damn the US, which I, especially as a wanna-be Christian, should not permit, because Jesus said to [pray for our enemies], those who persecute and otherwise commit injustices against us needing to be blessed, for if we humbly accept to be subjugated to Injustices, then we become ever closer to God; but something, it is, that this wanna-be Christian has difficulty with, for I'm NOT yet rid of my humanity and get very pissed off about Injustices.)

This is NO school-bench order flaky Christian speaking; but one from the school of hard knocks USA. Most white-ass little shit-head Americans would not recognise this, because I've already stated that I'm "white"; although not really, just like blacks are not black, etc. (we really having some serious trouble with accurately identifying colours, obviously). And to all fellow citizens of our world and who are serving in military, law enforcement, etc., all this fellow "streets citizen" can say is "WAKE UP, YOU'RE BEING ROYALLY SCREWED OVER (and without causing any real hurt, injursy, STEAL from the rich, NOT from the poor".

I LOVE people like Joan of Arc, PETER; how about you? Wonderful and awesome woman was she, and she'd surely want nothing to do with your likes, except in terms of being very against you. Like I said, wonderful and awesome woman; whoah, grand. (Ya think, monsieur idiot, liar, diabolically minded "trickster", although really and very unsuccessful, but then all to much anyway, PETER; ya think that she could not have handled ya? If you do, then ya don't know the truth of the real story and or cannot perform real analyses; for, after all, back then, they had no murderous weapons like those of today, and this definitely must be factored into the analyses! Any woman can equally be marksmen (women), as any man or male can be; merely needing two arms, hands, eyes, and a mind that can focus. She'd have made you out the schmuck that ya are, bud.)

Just a single woman would have made you out the schmuck that you and your ilk are.

I much prefer to be idiot, rather than schmuck, ya know. After all, to be idiot only or really means to simply be naive, which I'm certainly not, except in your asinine bigotry, whereas to be a schmuck is to literally be hellbent criminal. There ya go bud, a real telling of your [true] nature, about which there's obviously NO good; except in apparence, and only when it's for you to profit. That is what you and your ilk are really like, and NO one wishing to truly be Christian can allow themselves to be DECEIVED by evil or evil intentions! True Christians will always REJECT to do Evil's will!!!

Sorry bud, I also enlisted in the US military, around 30 years ago, and only left, upon the option to do so and on Good Conduct Discharge, because of their inherent HYPOCRISY that was then involved. If it hadn't been for that blatant or flagrant hypocrisy, then I was planning on staying in, but when the option to leave was offered, and on GCD status, while the officers were cursably hypocritical "pharisees", well, the option to leave was offered and TAKEN, right away. (The only regret I ever had about that choice was that I was scheduled to be trained to be a JET, jet electronics technician, on an aircraft carrier, the big one at the time. I needed a real trade skill and a G.E.D., but the HYPOCRISY killed it all off, and with more than enough struggle thereafter, because I was departing at 19, with only an equivalency of an 8th grade education, etc., while nevertheless being very productive and having done very well, among the tops in my USN company, too.)

That history is a long story, but I've learned enough in this life to know that almost no one is trustable; and very much including clergy, some of whom committed flagrantly bs crimes against family, which in turn adversely affected my life, etc., and therefore knowing very well what I talk of. I know the crimes of Christianity, the RCC, against my own family, and which, again, I receive adverse consequences from, but there's no Grace for us Lay people; no, we're the "sacrificial lambs" of the church's ongoing sacrificial manners, but rarely of clergy and other religiously vowed members, like nuns; except for relatively and really very few. NO, it is the Laity that carries the real and greatest Weight of this faith, and I'm willing to do my share, but there comes a time when we have to say that "enough is enough, it's now time for you to endure some of the Burden, too; or else, OUT you need to be".

Ya see, it's because of clergy members who disagree with the latter that truly conscientious and honourable US troops went to these chaplains in order to try to get some sane answers for the questions that their real consciences were provoking. Those are FALSE PROPHETS, those hellishly bent clergy members, just like the SCHMUCK false prophets Jesus strongly warned against obeying, listening to, seeking consultation from, etc. They are hellbent clergy, and there ain't no place Evil would like to corrupt more than its most strongest foe, which is Good, and which [true] Christianity therefore is a member of, the FOES of Evil.

Idiot? Depends on how you or people really view LIFE. For the sane, am no idiot; for evil worshippers, golden-cow worshippers, etc., sure, I may seem evil, but it's a FALSEHOOD.

Truth is never idiocy; risky, sure, but idiocy, never! M.L.K. Jr definitely and concretely proved as much or little, that while SCHMUCKS deemed that he was an idiot, he was truly a grand individual, and very Right.

I'm colourless as far as I'm concerned; only my skin's pigmentation giving an impression, a visible one, that there's something wrong with me, and yet it's only skin colour, as well as a damned pain in the neck when dealing with spending hours in the sun, where my damned weak pigmentation's characteristics don't offer much for protection!!! By the way!!!

It's kind of like a grand North American, First Nations' Indian once said to another and much more junior wise-man of the people, who was asking about who's really Indian, vs not, and the elderly and very wise Indian said, effectively anyway, that "it does not matter what colour the skin is, it's what is in the heart, soul, that really counts, and which indicates who's really Indian, vs not". GREAT words of real wisdom were those!

Peter, unfortunately, tells this poverty-grown, ..., American that he's definitely not of "my people", but of the elitists' castings of emprivilegement. His butt is not on the front lines of war; where is this white-collar and COWARD military member, I wonder; sitting in some cushy office and pondering what it is to treat poverty-raised Americans as cannon fodder, and for lots of "fun" too? Sure SEEMS THAT WAY!!!

All soldiers need to learn to WAKE UP TO REALITY and to tell officers, bla bla bla, schmuck "superiors" who's really making decisions; cause it ain't gonna be me siding with that hellbentness!!

When I did my USN bootcamp, right then and there, we GOT the necessary knowledge to know that it's not the du-fous idiot standing as C.i.C. who's to be adhered to, but the US Constitution, which no damn assed cic can override, not with us having a say!!! That is the Law of the land, but also goes well beyond only being the LAW of the USA, too.

There ya go PETER, plenty more to complain and report about. Go man, full throttle, ya never know who or what you might catch; including non-threats.

Don't worry folks, am not a terrorist, ..., am not going to take or apply actions against the USA; even if it's in part only because it's logistically COMPLICATED as heck to even try to think of how that could be attempted. Am not going to harm anyone, because to harm INNOCENTS is a FAUX PAS!

No American or any other true citizen of this world cares about what people like Peter have to say for criticism, because we KNOW that it's all bs, and just more (and antiChristian) nonsense, wickedness. Like I said, I left the USN, with GCD status, at 19, if not just entering 20, and with what really was only an 8th-grade equivalency; and that was no fault of my own. It's all and easily explainable, but not shortly, briefly; it's long, and covers years, even at such early age, while also making it clear to me that an awful lot of elderly people never really knew much for difficult life at all, and which is indeed reality. (No, am not bigotted against elders, far prefering to be able to truly honour and respect, and LEARN from them; but many, in the West anyway, have had relatively very easy lives, and these people never ceasing their demands with regards to what they personally, individually need, while having no concern at all for other needy people's real needs, this really does irk me.)

For me, it is simply a matter of "young'uns, honour your elders; but, first, elders, make sure that you give real reasons to your young'uns to honour you, or else [forget] that bs tyrannical way!". I want Fairness for Everyone, wholly, holistically, without negligence at all. That is what I want, but we have a world full of CHARLATANS, and Peter's already introduced himself folks, so you've got a concrete example of charlatanry already, if you hadn't already had more than enough of these types of humans; and am sure that you must have. After all, you du-fouses supported this totally hellbent war of entirely criminal and unjustifiable aggression; against Iraq, Afghanistan, Haiti, Colombia, etc., etc., etc., etc. (there being MANY cases).

Do ya's know that the US has around 1,000 military bases (for attempting world conquest and domination, by the way, and certainly for no other credible reason, at all) around the world! Americans are awfully IGNORANT and LIARS with respect to what the really true Reality of their long hellbent nation is, and in being so extremely supportive of such extreme ignorance, arrogance, etc., Americans are just going to continue to make this world ever more Hell's reign on earth.

To truly be Peace-Makers, "Blessed" be they, Jesus specifically said, this requires being well informed, and NON-bigotted, etc. We have to therefore treat all human beings, and regardless of religious differences, as equals, all Loved by God, all children of God, therefore all our brothers and sisters under God's Creation, ..., to NOT treat religious differences as if they're absolutely exclusional, for they obviously are not, at least not for true Christians, given that Jesus asked that the Good News, Gospel(s) be spread to [all] nations, and very precisely the way Jesus taught, which was with NO warring, aggressive force whatsoever, but only PEACEFULLY, tolerably, etc. To war in His holy name is to be strongly CONTRARY to Him, and that is to be of the antichrist's order; after all, it then and literally does obliterate or at least REPLACE His teachings and way; while to be anti, in Greek, means to be 'instead of', not necessarily against. A big problem for Christians, however, is that most of the within antiChristians are really against His way, which means rather of the orientation of satanism, definitely evil anyway.

A lot of the young in military service have not had any significant opportunity to learn what real Christian faith is about, because clergy too usually are pro-state, -empire, -capitalism, and etc. I want to share what I was fortunate to gain without those bastardisations of Christianity being involved; although they weren't forgotten.

1st Lt Ehren Watada, of Hawawii is making a grand stand against the war on Iraq, serving in it, and I appreciate such thinking and action. However, he's MISTAKEN, badly so, with regards to Afghanistan, which is a matter that Americans and the rest of the world must not forget or neglect. It was and remains an unjustifiable and criminal war of aggression; even Bush said, and prior to at least officially launching the war on them, that the Taliban had had nothing to do with the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Memories can fade, and do, but some don't! And even if my own personal memory of all of this faded away, all of the necessary evidence really has been recorded, article-ised, archived, and is available for those who search.

It's a particularly hellbent war, because the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks may have actually been guaranteed by some member(s) of the Bush administation; precisely who of the hellbent gangster bunch, we don't tangibly know, but Cheney is definitely a prime suspect in this category of evaluation.

Americans really need to seriously and deeply look in the MIRROR, to try to determine what the real Truth is, for Americans are so far offering the world awful little of real truth.

Sorry folks, I won't betray my (home, birth anyway) country or humanity, either; only truth being Fitting. And Ca's present PM should NOT be this, but on trial for WAR CRIMES, because he IS a war criminal; made himself so at least in 2003, and that CRIME is yet unADDRESSED!

'War clouds'; and that is no joking matter. A young Texan lad also said, reported, but I was not able to find a supporting article, only the piece that I learned this from, well, he said that he had a premonition, of some sort anyway, telling him that this was WWIII commencing. And that fits well enough with what I very, and carefully, both, witnessed and observed, and therefore very carefully interpreted; the latter having been the easy (easiest anyway) part, too.

I know what that was, and KNOW that all of this hellbent warring is hellbent Wrong.

I don't give a damn what idiots like Peter say; it's putrid nonsense anyway, and I MUST never side with such human "crap". To HELL with it; although not meaning this with respect to Peter, and his ilk, who instead do and obviously do need to be PRAYED FOR, because they're CLEARLY hellbent. I might be streets-enough, but NO criminal, barbarian, Injustice maker, etc.; instead, being from the "other side" of the "same streets", the side opposed to and struggling against hellbentness.

LONG, YES, folks, definitely; but "nice and simple", here it is. And this has got to be my last post here, because this and the prior post have just taken up too much space, and it's not a discussion forum, etc.

Instead of sending your children and loved ones' children to military recruiters, ya can send them to me; figuratively, for I have no place to really receive them. If I did have that, however, then it'd be GREAT, for then we could really take time to explore, etc., and really help each other to GROW. I was in some need of it going into the USN, but had already been, and for already LONG, badly mistreated in the US, well, and as well as my father having been of the "old country" type, having taught me, as well as my brother, if he clued in, from very early childhood that politics, therefore politicians and governments, are full of CRAP. I did not grow up your ordinary and idiotic school-bencher, having achieved, fully, and even then not really fully, 8th-grade ed. by the age of 19. No, my life was not ordinary, although would certainly be enough so in some sectors of the US, just not among the hellish "white" hellishly-become black-elitist, ..., ones. No, I'm from the [common] and [low-caste] folks, folks, and it's GREAT, for at least while I presently suffer (have been for eight years already and I see no end to it so far, economically and in terms of citizenship; not being from wealthy enough families, coming here and profiteering, besides those of here and who import other well-off people to replace the rest of us, or at least that is what more than mere apparences provide to deduce anyway), I know where and who to relate to, or to at least try anyway. It is not with the well-to-do that I can relate, with the sole exception of those who understand what the f... our circumstances are, and truly care about this real problem. (It's not a question of greed but of need, real needs, but those are not important to the especially well-to-do, for all they really care about is themselves. Hell's reign on earth.)

Bush is INSANE, as are his father, mother, brothers, and so on, and wife and children, too. But as insane as that true IDIOT is, I believe that he's too cursably idiot to be really aware of the evil he's committing. Now, however, if we switch over, momentarily, to Cheney and Rumsfeld, Powell, Rice, Perle, Rove, Ashcroft, and so on, then I believe that what we find is people who kow that GWB is stupid as stupid can get, and they all play roles in puppeteering this idiot. (His parents or family, and so-called "friends" thereof, certainly did, so ..., others surely could or can too.) And ALL of these people are SCHMUCKS, nothing less; if anything else, then only worse.

And of course schmucks attract other schmucks, for, after all, and has long been said, wisely enough too, likes attract likes!!!

Militar members, families, and others with loved ones serving or potentially going to do so, WAKE UP to REALITY. It is a crucial matter, Essential.

To whom it may concern,

This is a military website. Just to clarify that, it means for US soldiers + families. It provides good support, ideas and info. The fact is the chinese system represents a REAL threat to US Security for soldiers and families. That is the issue. I personally could care less about the political / geopolitical aspects, or personal hates of my country, I love the US and what we as Americans stand for. If our failures are that bad, u don't like it, please go where-ever it is u like and DO NOT take the mistakes of a few and judge all persons, in this case Americans!!(Yes, admittedly I, as a Human Being do make mistakes, that I am trully sorry for, but does not mean I am evil...) SO THE FACT IS DO YOU HAVE A SOLUTION, IDEA ETC? IS IT TO THE POINT, HELPFUL, OR IS IT A PERSONAL COMMENT THAT DOES NOT GENERALLY INSULT MY COUNTRY??? AND YES I AM AMERICAN!!!
If not please feel free be quiet, not comment, and return to the GOD FORSAKEN PLACE YOU CAME FROM!!!!

Regarding China's products being cheaper, in both terms, i.e., cost, $, and quality, it's an odd argument to make; it seems to be anyway. I believe that the argument has some value, but it's not a panacea. F.e., Japanese auto-manufacturers, like Toyota and Honda, they under-costed US-made automobiles, ..., and all while providing greater quality; and when prices became comparable, Japanese quality was still superior, compared to, and by far too, most US-manufactured automobiles anyway; if not all of them.

That can be explained based on at least a couple of distinct reasons, but it was and still remains real. One reason may be that US manufacturers focused too much on stupid, nonsensical and truly worthless, as well as very costly marketing, coming up with MANY different models of automobiles, not to mention the many models of SUVs, and so on. There was absolutely no sound reason for that, being only marketers' bs; it's really the other way around that should have been adopted and applied, fewer models, bla bla bla nonsense, and GREATER emphasis on real quality.

But that wasn't the "American Way", which needed to FLOOD the world with bs marketing nonsense. (Much "thanks" to the stupid and greedy marketing people, too, let's add!!! Anyone who listens to marketers instead of to sound sense is STUPID, and that's what happened, this kind of lopsided result for society.) Even those Japanese companies probably produce more different models than truly justifiable and useful, or beneficial, but they're not as bad as US corporations were and stupidly-OBSTINATELY remain.

After all, what's the f... is a damn car? It's just four damned wheels propelled by a car engine, etc., that gets people from points A to B; it is only transporation!!! But the world IDOLISISES, worships material comfort, and meagre whims for INSIGNIFICANT differences or variations!!! And such IDOLATRY is very much the cause for all of this hellbent VANITY (fair) bs.

AS FOR CHINA owning a major share of the US Treasury, it's definitely not China's fault; it is the US' FAILURES to govern SANELY, justly, .... No soundly governed country would ever have done or do this, but the US's greedy pigs did see to it being made so, reality; a major reality for Americans to wake up to, if they want to really understand the kind of hellish regime we really do have anyway.

After all, does the US conversely own anything proportionally relevant in terms of China's assets, which of course, in this case, means also debts? Surely not. But the US government, the MANY schmuck politicians, etc., of the US government, they made sure to treasonously sell-off their country, and yet Americans remains hellishly cowards, refusing to place the blame where it really belongs, with their own asinine and hellbent government.

AND, AS FOR CHINA seeking to improve its military defences, who else do we have to particularly "thank" for this today, if NOT THE USA!!! It is the fault of the hellbent rogue regime USA that other countries that do have potential to develop adequate military forces will NATURALLY seek to DO SO. No sane person, that is, none who's prepared to be of the Joan of Arc "stream" of being, heart, and therefore willing to really fight to DEFEND against hell's reign taking over, well, no such sane person is going to live in denial of the hellbent wrongs of their own government; it has to be part of the analysis, or else such people are majorly incompetent, and hyocritical, etc. (She was not that, but truly patriotic, definitely; and no puritanical pacifist, the order of which or whom really don't stop anything WRONG, hellish, only speaking out against it, but while really doing nothing other than "show" and therefore being very unthreatening to hell's reigning on earth. There are plenty of people who are definitely welcome in that latter order, but they're not people to seek assistance from when we're in real and serious troubles; because it's mostly all ending just being "show". Conversely, Douglass Frederick, a former African American slave, he fits with my "chords".)

And China hasn't attacked any other country, and still awaits reparations from the Japanese government, for its hellbent warring on Chinese people; according to what I've read, that is. It's believable though, because multiple and non-affiliated sources report as much.

The US has been sticking its cursably hellish nose in Chinese affairs for far too long, including with respect to Taiwan, which has an issue, but NOTHING pertinent to the US; which in turn is NOT and must never be thought of as POLICEMAN of the whole world. That is the UN's role, and before the UN existed, it still wasn't the US' role; for the US has been hellbent and nothing, awfully little less anyway, for as long as it's been established as the USA. But the US is arrogantly STUCK-UP as hell is, or nearly so, and can't keep its damned nose to where it belongs, only; always needing to stick its hellbent damned bigotted bs politics in everyone's faces (including into the faces of US citizens who've had their Constitution and BoR criminally hijacked today, although not a new theme; not even that being really new).

Humans will keep making war and imposing, hegemonically, etc., injustices, until they or we finally opt to cease working for Hell; and Americans still aren't prepared for this choice, not yet; it doesn't seem to be anyway.

Why are people such hellbent warmongers, greedy, etc., like the Bilderbergs, say; for a concrete example of a very hellbent group? It's, I believe, rather much, very, like Jesus said in one of his strong statements against the hypocrisy and hegemony of hypocritical and hegemonic pharisaic religious "leaders", when he told them that they're "NOT SONS OF GOD, but of the father of lies, rape, murder, pillage, usury, ...".

Until people cease choosing, wittingly and not, to be of that asinine fathership, instead of truly working to be of God's Reign, people will continue with their hellbent ways. This is a form of fatality, only it is not pure fatality; because we have the abilities to wake up, to make ourselves well informed, to apply [sound common sense], instead of asinine bs or near-totally absent thinking, .... We have the power to correct ourselves; but to do so, this requires realising what's wrong with us, and Americans, among many enough other people in our world, REFUSE, obstinately refuse to accept real truth; instead of fantastical truths that do not even exist, in real Reality; except in so much as these denials of Reality are indeed and really present, and unfortunately effective.

Assuming climate conditions are appropriate, farmers reap what they sow. Or. if we work for a farmer who's honest and promises to pay for our labour, then we reap our salaries or wages for our services, labour. Similarly, we find Christian churches reaping what their so-called "church fathers" sowed, which is abandonment, giving all (many anyway) the reasons in the world for members to flee or at least abandon (whereas I don't really do either of those, instead of simply abstaining, because there's simply and far too much hypocrisy and hegemony exercised within the churches; not out of being against the Essence of these, just their damned hypocrisies and hegemonies, their constantly climbing back into bed with states, and other rich "powers" or "elites", that kind of churchship having absolutely no use for ME, and ["individual conscience is primordial"] (Thomas of Aquinas land) being PRIMARY); conscience, real conscience, being PRIMORDIAL to me (having absolutely no interest in copycat faggot ways, but to instead be as fully human as we have the potential to be, definitely yes; and there are far too many ministers in Christianity, as well as in other religions, who are rather nothing other than just a bunch of more pharisaical faggots; while being faggot has nothing to do with sexual orientation, for there are homosexuals who are actually very honourable in terms of human character; vs the many condemners of those people and while being true faggots, for only faggots are so weak that they take joy in inflicting hypocrisies, hegemonies, ..., INJUSTICES; only real faggots being able to do that; like the schmuck known as Satan, f.e.; just another and major faggot he/it was and will forever be).

In the case of governments, and supporters thereof, like the US, these also reap what they sow; they sow war, hypocrisy, hegemony, etc., and why should we then question the moves of others who obviously have a LOT of cause to get moving on strengthening their military defences or powers, capabilities; to prepare for major US and hellbent aggression again on the world??? To hold such a question as valid [against] other countries, instead of the US, is to just be yet another member of the hypocrites, etc., and all of these people fit in with those aforementioned words of Jesus of Naz., "sons of not God, but of the father of lies, rape, murder, ...".

It's the BIG PROBLEM: The USA, is! Unfortunately, too many Americans still prefer to live in DENIAL, after denial, ...; as they've been doing for a few or more centuries, already, and pervasively, etc.

Why is there a potential conflict between the US and China over OIL? It is certainly not because of China, it cannot be credibly blamed for this, at all, to any degree whatsoever; definitely not significantly anyway. IT IS THE PIGGERY USA [again] that is the problem. If not, then why is it then that the US has around 5% of the world's total human population, while [being] the BIGGEST PIG of all, in terms of natural resources, as well as in other respects! IT IS BECAUSE USA is hellbent PIG on the world.

Why is it that products or goods now purchasable from Chinese manufacturing are so pervasive? It's not because of China, which only provides; it's because of the profiteers, and Americans therefore buy into not the profits China reaps, but into those of the US corporations that have outsourced, offshored, and insourced, for far cheaper labour; and, which when insourced, doesn't remain significantly cheaper for long!!! That is, it is because of TREASONS from within; not because of actions from without. (This needs elaboration in order to be able to make the point clear, but it's real; just that it will not, here, be elaborated in further detail.)

And it's far from being a newly adopted and applied theme for the US. It's been going on longer than most humans ever live.

"War is a Racket"!; US Gen. S. Butler. He did not derive this from the actions of other governments, but from those of the US' government!

And "you do reap what you sow"! You sow hell, you will reap it too, eventually. The US has so far long escape this consquential result, but it's obviously begun to happen, and stupid, atrociously ignorant Americans arrogantly ask, "why do they hate us; it's got to be because of our freedoms, ..., our great society, which those countries don't have?". WRONG. It's because of US freedom though, just not of the sort that we normally think of as being 'freedom'; it's the freedom to wickedly liberally massacre, attack, ..., others, to commit injustices en masse, until finally satiated, and which Americans have so far illustrated that they're not easy to satisfy; being quite insatiably for greed, and therefore war, etc.

If China nukes the US and en masse, then I doubt that this American, i.e., US citizen (not really American in heart, for it's a hellbent country and culture, too much and pervasively anyway), well, I won't have anything to complain about. After all, the US is a culture of major inbreeding of traitors within, not needing people of other countries to adversely affect us, and therefore not needing other countries' actions to cause us to believe that war is justified; it's as justified, if not even more so today, in the US, as it was with regards to the Civil War, the War of Independence, etc.; definitely no less justified anyway.

Iraq's inaction towards the US, the non-threats, the non-WMD ..., etc., this justified such war by Americans on their own government, and the whole league of various schmucks making up the network of hellbent fools making this government as hellbent corrupt, hegemonic, ..., as it is. The same applies with regards to the hellbent war of aggression on Haiti's people and [democratically] elected government; the hellbent and covert, black ops war of US aggression, complicity therein anyway, on the poor and indigenous of Colombia; the hellbent war of US criminal aggression on the Taliban, who even Bush said, before launching the war on them, that they had had nothing to do with the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the US; the ongoing hellbent but for now political warring against Venezuela and President Hugo Chavez's government, also and strongly [democratically] elected by the vast majority of Venezuelans; the continued oppression of and refusal to provide just reparations to the people of Diego Garcia; the same with respect to Vietnamese, Laotians, ...; etc., etc., etc., etc., etc.

Talk about LIVING IN DENIAL, after denial, after denial, ...!!!!

Power to China, and what the Chinese government did in the Tian. Sqr. tragedy, 1989 I believe it was, well, it's not really worse than many DISGUSTING crimes of US governments, federal and state, over the past century, and the past recent decades!!! Bad, yes, shocking, yes, definitely, and to never be repeated is to be ENCOURAGED en masse, yes, but not really any worse than the history of the US, including recent history.

NO, NO, NO. The US is NO example to follow; it is hellbent, and has been since the first schmuck Europeans, the bloodthirsty, ruthless, capitalising, greedy SOB ones, that is; not those who came and were very glad to live in happy, peaceful and Just co-existence with their Hosts, the North American Indians. The same applies with Spaniard bastards who acted similarly in South America, too.

Forget China, ..., and instead FOCUS on your own hellbent hypocrisies, hegemonies, etc. Refuse to do that, and then [die the way you [chose] to live]!. If that's all people want to be is stupid fools living in total or apparently total denial of their own hyocritical, hegemonic, ..., natures, hellbent that is, then they do deserve nothing less than to die the way they chose to live vis-a-vis other humans; regardless who they are, where they're from, and so on!

That is REALITY; not living in denial, which never constitutes anything other than refusing to live according to true REALITY. Living that way is real, but it does not reflect truth any more than to simply indicate that indeed we are examining HYPOCRISY, HEGEMONY, which inherently involves hypocrisy (being rather an inseparable pairing), etc.

But the "sons (inherently also daughters) of NOT God, but of the father of lies, rape, murder, pillage, ...", such bastardisations of humanity continue to exist, and will continue to try to manipulate this world in their hellish manners; involving plenty of bogus analyses, etc., and en masse of [living in DENIAL].

Military, war, issues, as well as immigrant and migrant worker issues, among others, these all help to make it very clear that the above is VERY MUCH or strongly so, REALITY; the world being inundated with LIARS, ..., "sons (and daughters) of (clearly, certainly, and [C]ertifiably) not God, but ...".

Bs Americans worry about China not being worried about potentially causing a lot of "co-lateral damage" among its own citizens, population, as if this was to be a surprising factor; as IF THE US government has NOT been LONG doing this with its own population, including and VERY MUCH SO currently, and including its HELLBENT atrocious treatment of military veterans. So, given that the US has ESTABLISHED such a strong evidence of governments not paying particular care for their own populations, well, it's no surprise that China would also risk doing the same; just like low-income family offspring are just objects to be employed a-la "co-lateral damage" as the US government has LONG wanted and applied, other states are likely to do enough the same.

Again, the US remains leader or role model; of HELL's reign on earth.

When Americans of this order of BIGOTRY, and awfully hellish infantile nonsense (not meaning any reference at all to true infants, who are only little babies or are children, too young to be able to know what this world is really and hellishly about and like, for they are all innocents), well, maybe this will only happen when Jesus of Naz. finally returns; and that is if He's indeed going to ever do so. As it is, we are living on a DYING planet, and only because of hellbent human bs, acting, which has been allowed to go with IMPUNITY, which has been even "blessed" by many enough, far too many, and probably most du-fous so-called Christians, etc. It is a DYING world, so this Christian is not sure that Jesus ever really did say that He was going to return, ever. (It's written that He said that, but none of us were witnesses, and this is a dying world right now; very.)

If He comes back, great; and hopefully I won't find myself among the REJECTED. Right now, that is about all of the realistic kind of hope this world permits; anything more being really DREAMY, like Disneyland, or Hollywood, making up the contrary, instead of it being based on what is really credible.

God Commanded, "Thou shalt not murder", falsely translated by the RCC as about "killing" rather than the distinct order known as 'murder', and it's not a surprise, given the institutional history of the RCC; it's right in line with that history, for this additional mistranslation to be taught as if it was accurate. Well, Americans and many others prefer to MURDER, and en masse, just like "sons of NOT God, but ..." can and need to be expected to choose.

Do you know that the US of today is built upon a land that can indeed be quite literally referred to as blood-soaked; the schmuck Europeans, including some Jews, but I suppose they're also a relatively small number in all of this, well, they committed GENOCIDE in the US territory known today, a genocide of nearly 98% of the original inhabitants of this land, and who had graciously provided great assistance to the first arrivals among these bastardisations of humanity from Europe.

Knowing our nations' histories with thorough truth, as [thoroughly] as we can, this is our Responsibility. To live in denial is to be TRAITORS! And what's the most fitting conclusion for traitors? Well, ya either get rid of them entirely, or secularly put'em away behind bars, because they're not to be "liberally" allowed to continue to exist the way they have been, so far. There's no other answer for traitors, and really, most Americans are this; although, some of these people, if not even many enough of them, only made their hellishly foolish decisions based on real issues being turned into racist warring, which definitely happened in the IT/IS industry in the US, and which got people like me, and who had absolutely no trouble with realising that the economic problem had NOTHING at all to do with race, but only $$$, greed, well, these wrong-deciders therefore not being really treasonous, having instead acted based on understandable grounds, to support the MAJOR REPLACEMENT of American workers within the US itself; let alone elsehwere. The latter weren't treasonous, and weren't based on greed, having been based against greed, excessive selfishness, but it unfortunately helped to only contribute to NOT good, but to only ever more strength for the hellishly greedy who refused to employ US citizens. (It's majorly damaging for us individuals who were AFFECTED, totally adversely, but those people still need to be understood within the contexts in which the choices were made, and there were a lot of assh.les in the IT/IS industry who turned the problem into a racist war; when it had absolutely nothing to do with race! It's the common theme of many paying for the wrongs of relatively few, while the latter make the situation out to be so hellish that they really do cause sane people to refuse to support.)

TREASONOUS character is EVERYWHERE. And never forget to carefully examine "churches"; treason is everywhere! (The very latter is actually part of true Christian teaching, too; inherently inferred in the very words of the Teacher, Jesus of Naz., himself.) If that wasn't true, then we would not find "church" "leadership" regularly getting in bed with states, when the Teacher said to keep church, i.e., religion, and state SEPARATE; keep'em apart, it's primordial to do so, for the second you mess up on this Commandment, you become False Prophets, i.e., preachers, and Falsely employ my Name for your DISGUSTING purposes, egotism, etc.

Given how screwed-up-astray Christianity has become, it's not surprising that the USA is hellbent; after all, if religious churches and institutions become this badly astray, then it really is "no wonder" that most members also become the same, ASTRAY. And pope "Peter" may finally be really present; although, well, I perceive such inferred Peters as popes from prior history, instead of only the present. (One of the very first was the one who accepted, in agreement with the Roman Empire, to permit that all members, except for the ordained, perhaps also the religiously vowed, like nuns say, and without presently knowing if the latter were included, well, accepting that all lay or non-clergy members would be subject to the rule of the RE, which was required conscription to serve in the RE's military forces, to go out and kill, murder, ..., according to the RE's directives; meanwhile, the clergy having been and totally so exempted. It was an at least very early example of the papacy becoming Peterian, and that's if that reference to apostle to Peter is at all valid. Whether it's valid, or not, though, this doesn't really matter much with regards to what I'm presently saying; and that is that the Peterian pope of supposedly "end times", but who seems to have occurred before in RCC history, well, he's to play buddy with states, contributing to states slaughtering, ..., the flocks of the church. We do have such a pope today; he's already and concretely proven it, before becoming pope, which no truly sane or responsible people would've ever done or supported, but also since becoming pope. He's done it before, and since, both; already, before having even completed his first year as pope.)

As far as this Christian believes, Jesus of Naz., the Christ, was not an individual to gratuitously "feed" His followers, brothers and sisters in humanity, to hellish murderers, rapists, etc. He was very much against this, and would have never succumbed into such "blissful" acceptance, complacency and [complicity] as mere humans pretending to be authentically popes have done and continue to do. He did not go around praising Hell's reigning on earth, but instead worked against it; unlike many popes, including the present and prior ones.

Francis of Assis said that the church needed to get back to its real Origin, and it has still and far from achieved anything really noteworthy in this regard! Ya know, that message, which was of a very Special order, this occurred nearly 1,000 years ago; and, yet, the church has made awfully little improvement since, if any truly significant improvement at all.

Are Americans copycatting the RCC and or any of its perverse derivations, denominations that established out of variably understandable and acceptable schisms; while schisms were obviously going to one day happen anyway, because the RCC became extremely corrupt under and within the RE! I wonder; but then the RCC, even under the RE, was not unique in human history; there having been preceding instances in which we find religious hellishness, too.

What it therefore seems to be is that humans who are awfully weak, cowardly, treasonous, etc., in character, want to apply subjugation unto others, hypocritically, hegemonically, etc. It's of humanity, this FAULTINESS, definitely not born out of Christianity, is it; but it's been adopted and re-applied within Christianity, and en masse, grotesquely so too. It's human trait, an awfully bad one, very destructive for society, etc.

We just need to "dig through" the mounds of "crap" in front of us, to try to get down to the true essence of what's atrociously going on. When we can clear away the surface clutter, then we can see what the real bases, roots are, and then we can finally start to focus on addressing the real problems. But most people prefer to live in denial of the roots; instead focusing too much, and when it's not only, on the surface matters. Get down deep, underneath, to find out what the causes are of the then above-appearing or simply apparent problems! If we did this, then we'd be able to finally constitute a world of not war-makers, but real peace-makers; just that too MANY people prefer to pay attention on surfaces, appearances.

Mark my words, if we ever get into another shooting war we may lose. We nolonger have the
ability to produce products like we did during the
second world war. China fought us in korea, they
hate our guts, and they will do anything to defeat
us. Russia is no longer our enemy, but China is.

Responding to B H Eldredge:
BH, yes, I know how to use a sextant, and even an astrolabe. The problem is not navigation, but weapon placement. China currently has the technology to reach the US West coast and Hawaii with Surface launched ICBM's as well as submarine launch capability. Read their own "White Paper" documents to see that the Chinese believe themselves that war is inevitable due to competition over dwindling oil reserves and China's growing need for oil.

GPS Technology allows weapon targeting of an incredibly precise nature, and if China gains this capability, we are looking at a major paradigm shift in the balance of power, making war not only more possible, but more likely. China has demonstrated a willingness to sacrifice a signifigant portion of their own population, incidentally, in a war with us. The other issue is that I see is that a war with China has an extremely high liklihood of escalation to a nuclear exchange, with China far more willing to accept the accompanying casualties than we are. The above are my primary reasons for concern, and there are many more, but I don't want to post a Masters thesis on geopolitics.

Alex Jones has some eye-opening perspectives about China on his website at www.prisonplanet.com that you all should view and consider! The world has virtually forgotten the brutality shown on peaceful demonstrators at Tienamen Square. How anyone can ignore such brutality just because of a nations vast wealth is beyond me! Go ahead and buy cheap products from China. When it falls apart after 10 minutes of light use, or never works right out of the box, consider if it was really the great value you thought it was when you bought it over an American made product, and just try sending it back to the manufacturer or getting replacement parts to fix it. Good luck with that! The old addage "you get what you pay for" still applies today, so buyer be forwarned when buying cheap Chineese goods that are often made by prison labor.

re "All China wants is US dollars....", the sender should know that China currently owns well over $700,000,000,000.00 of US currency. This places China behind only Japan ($800+ Billion) in US currency reserves.

rod i am going to remember that quote "he who controls space controls the world" that is a classical quote that i will remeber. do you mind if i use it in my book

Remember its not as simple as to adopt a policy of NOT buying Chinese products.. We need them to keep buying US Debt and as long as we remain dependant upon this, we will have no choice but to play nice... Not as simple as you would think.. Remeber that next time the fed raises interest rates.. Money is still far too cheap!

I seem to recall, in the late-80's or early-90's the USAF were experimenting with F-15s launched ASAT ( Anti-Satellite ) missile systems. Whether I saw the information in Aviation Week, Popular Science, or elsewhere, I could not say. It seems that somebody might want to pull that technology back off the shelves, and dust it off. Assuming that other systems, such as the Patriot III, do not already have that capability. Albeit unadvertised.

A Chinese constellation of Positioning Satellites, are not the only threat that are of concern. An increasing number of countries, are launching their own satellites, designed for one purpose or another. If those countries become a threat, and actual hostilities commence, it would be in our interest to deprive the enemy of those resources. Permanently. Oh, excuse me. National Technical Means.

China would be really stupid to pose a threat to their customers! Yes we are their best customers they burn us and their economy goes down.

Sad buit true!

"SIMPLE... frequency hop protocols would prevent this entire situation from ever being a concearn. its part of the encryption method used by our millitary for all communication that is "secure". this makes the entire subject pointless. if the Chinese sats are not programmed with the same crypto key they can overlap all they want and our sats will not respond to their commands. its like being in a stadium with 100,000 people screaming as loud as they can until one person says your name, you then direct your attention to the one voice to hear what it is saying and ignore the 99,000 others. this is now a non-issue, correct?

Posted by: Steve Niemand at June 17, 2006 12:19 PM"

Sorry, Steve, but it is not SIMPLE. Frequency hopping works for terrestrial RF systems, but because our GPS uses the same freq for every satellite in the constellation, this would require a paradigm shift in every receiver system. Also, the power consumption for frequency hopping systems is grater than the PRN (pseudo random noise) system now employed. As we have no way to refuel the birds, their lifespan would be significantly shortened, and the program costs would therefore become astronomical - pardon the pun...

Hey J. Turner. Simple answer to your question. Invested interest. We would love to keep our own damn yard clean if the rest of the world would quit stcking their hand out for money at every turn in the road. If the rest of the world would quit crapping in our yard it would make things simple too. Keep listening to NPR, you have it all figured out.

Ouch Taiwan

Seems to me that if this doubtful deployment does take place and a Chineese game of interupt is played, it would be wise to put self attaching flea sats in place that find and attach to their sats without the Chineese knowing. These flees have their own can of RAID to kill on our command. They smile and say So-sorry, we smile and say So-sorry too.

China radar at South Pole could sabotage U.S. spy satellites

Thursday, February 2, 2006
Beijing announced plans last week to build a high-frequency radar on the South Pole. Analysts say the radar could be used to disrupt U.S. intelligence satellites.

The radar will be built at China’s Zhongshan Station, where Beijing has set up of a space environment lab.
National security analysts say the South Pole site, because of its remoteness, could be used by China to develop anti-satellite lasers capable of blinding or disrupting U.S. reconnaissance satellites, most of which pass over the pole.

The station will consist of 20 antenna units, including 16 units for the main antenna and four for the auxiliary antenna. Each antenna is 20 meters high. The high-frequency radar can detect ionospheric convection within a range of 3,000 kilometers.
Chinese officials told Xinhua the station would be used to measure the polar space environment.

China’s space program, unlike the U.S. space program, is directly related to Chinese military operations.

A Pentagon report on the Chinese military last year said China was “working on, and plans to field, ASAT systems.”

Good Morning Folks,

Here we are again it's Congressional Budget Season and the annual boggy man stories of how China is going to get us.

This story like the one on China's AWACS is placed to get mo-money in the Defense Budget for pie in the sky contracts to defeat an non existening threat from China.

Before we talk about a killer GPS from China lets get closer to them actually putting up a working GPS Constellation, before we worry about Chinese AWACS lets see the Chinese build a transport aircraft.

Instead of the above why not put funds into the annual Defense Budget to support our military so that in the Spring of 07 the DoD won't have to goto Congress with a Tin Cup in hand saying we can't pay our Soldiers. I know this is a tradition since 1775 when Washington sent a letter to the Contiental Congress wanting more money so he could pay the troops.

Ithink this might be an excellent place to start a real transformation at DoD.

ALLONS,
Byron

I'm wary of pat dismissals, and my knowledge of DSS is very thin, so I'm not confident when I make the following statement. But what the hell:
A well-designed receiver should be able to discriminate between legit GPS signals and "spoofing", even if the bogus transmitter uses the same PN code.

And then there's the fact that this Chinese project is still in the early planning stages. One would hope that by the time the Chinese have designed, built, and lofted enough satellites the DoD will have a number of GPS Block III platforms up, which will a very robust anti-jam capability.

And speculating in full blue-sky mode, it may be that some of the newer birds in the constellation can broadcast a double-super-secret "war emergency" AJ waveform should the need arise.

China has thought about use of lasers to damage electronics on enemy satellites. Why not do the same with their satellites?

Awe come on, If Compass is going to interupt U.S. Military Operations on any level that the Compass satellite will not meet some untimley demise??

Posted by: Punisher1 at June 15, 2006 06:52 PM

Re: The Compass sats could transmit garbage that disabled GPS, or transmit deceptive signals that would not disable it, but cause it to broadcast incorrect data. They could do this intermittently and sneakily to undermine confidence in GPS/Galileo reliability (Beijing to Washington, Were so sorry, bugs in our system.)

Interesting legal ramifications in this approach if the interference could be traced back to China. Since just about every mode of transportation uses GPS for navigation, think of the lawsuits from a crashed airliner or supertanker on the rocks. Does anyone out there remember celestial navigation?

Posted by: John B at June 15, 2006 05:00 PM

Ok, here are a few takes on this issue. First, what was the main drive behind Mutually Assured Destruction? It was because the threat of a nuclear attack is so great that it became necessary to create a neutralizing situation to balance the playing field. Well, the destructive capability of GPS guided precise attacks is just as great. If you combine the destructive power contained in cruise missile attacks, drone surveillance and attacks, kinetic energy attacks, etc...you come up with a greater destructive capability, and much greater precision than nuclear warheads currently pose. So, why not use the 'if one satellite get's jammed, they all get jammed' scenario as a kind of MAD for precision warfare?
Secondly, the US has already spent millions of dollars on ways around the whole GPS sat jamming scenario. There was a call a few years back from DARPA to come up with a system to target enemy positions without using current GPS satellites. I haven't found any more information on how far this has progressed (and frankly if I had I wouldn't be posting it for all the world to see), but I know they put out the call.

This is what we get when we keep enabling the Chinese economy. Are people ever going to wake up and realize that China is a growing threat to the west, and that it isn't a good idea to keep buying goods from China?
