Mount a mini-gun on a hard SUV and what do you get? I'm not sure but it sure does have a high rate of fire. Heads up, Code Pink bad people who could be viewed as a threat to state officials . . .

I'm sure Kiefer Sutherland would love it. On a damped mount with some sights worthy of the name it might have some utility but on a free swinging flex mount like this...not so much.

You can't fire along the sides without hitting the hatch doors?

Definitely cool. But, there's absolutely no freaking way that the Secret Service would ever buy something like this. Even if you used this as a defensive weapon, to pull the trigger would require absolutely no regard for innocent life. Only the biggest a-hole could imagine using this to protect a VIP in what I would assume to be an urban enviroment. Cool video, but, I shudder to think anyone actually has this somewhere.

I wonder when Ford will unveil their competition. A Bradley turret on an Expedition, maybe?

Code Pink is going down!!!!! Hard

In terms of sheer awesomeness, a pop-up minigun turret is right up there with the rocket-powered chainsaw launcher.

This vehicle was featured on an episode of Mythbusters recently when the were testing out the myth of how easy it was to shoot fish in a barrel. With this gun it was pretty damn easy. Youtube the clip.

Once again, a weapon that looks really freakin' awesome, but has no practical purpose has gotten onto Defensetech
Not that I have any problem with it.

Ward... Are you positive this is for the secret service and not something else like citanon stated??

This is just the thing if you are a terrorist who wants to mow down crowds of innocent people in marketplces. But, when in the world would there be a legitimate use for this thing?
In any situation when you contemplate needing that kind of firepower, which presumably would involve large numbers of armed hostiles, a far better armored vehicle would be de rigeur. You might as well put a 105mm gun on Yugo.

I dunno man, joking about shootin' women is pretty weak. Weak like clear piss.
P.S. yes, I wish I had an SUV with a minigun in the roof.
- turns out Lawrence Livermore are buying (but not necessarily the fancy pop-up version)

"Ward's sure got his threat hierarchy straight... pathetic."
Hey Mike, maybe we can get your head removed from your a$$ and have a sense of humor installed in it's place.

I'm holding off until they have the CROWS version available next year.

I live in Detroit, the city where the weak are killed and eaten. I recently purchased three of these to assist in my daily commute to and from the 'burbs for work. Amazing... simply amazing... what this device does for tailgaters who always seem to think the car ahead is too slow. And talk about clearing a lot so you can find parking!! By the way, I'm paying for these through the funds acquired by renting it to Santa.

I believe this is for security at one of the national labs, not the secret service.

This is really old. I saw it years ago. I don't remember where, but I'm sure of it.

+1 22lr..... +1
Forget intentional fire.... now Blackwater can blame their excessive fire rates for civilian casualties.
Posted by: Foreign.Boy at November 29, 2007 11:02 PM
Those shell casings are gonna scratch the hell out of the paint on the roof.
Posted by: Brian at November 29, 2007 10:59 PM
Does that come standard?
Posted by: Joe Lagasse at November 29, 2007 06:59 PM
Dont forget a few .30s mounted under the hood, and maybe a few rockets could pop out on side launchers.
Blackwater would just kill more civies with a vehicle like this, they can hold there fire with rifles yet alone a minigun.

Looks like s fun Sunday driver, but I'd put a Mk-19 in the back hatch, claymores in the bumper, & retractable tazer probes encircling the vehicle... that'd keep those pesky windshield washers away. ;)
Maybe you could mount that Trophy anti-rocket system and mod it into a defensive/offensive system.
Posted by: Camp at November 29, 2007 06:02 PM
Maybe if Blackwater would have had this in Fallujah in 2004 it would have been a different story.
